Misuse. Trope is about difficult or time-consuming sidequests, which is only briefly mentioned as an aside in the entry. Seems to exist more to complain about unsatisfying endings.

* ThatOneSidequest: The ''Playing with Devil'' sidequest is absolutely loathed and often listed as one of the worst, if not ''the'' worst parts of the game. There is no good ending to it - not because it's impossible to salvage in-universe, but because it simply has no good ending written. Henry either let three innocent women die (to be chewed for not preventing their deaths), killed the bandits that attacked them (only to be chewed out for killing innocent woodcutters the next day), or waited long enough for the "devil" to spawn and kill the women (for which he is chewed), while the new "devil" will keep spawning for as long as any of the three women is still alive (so fighting it, while perfectly doable, is futile). As players found out, beating the bandits with bare fists to simply drop unconscious still "kills" them and still gets the "you killed good Christians" ending, just like scaring the women off with an arrow so they run away in the middle of the ritual. And on top of the lack of even remotely satisfying conclusion, the quest is simply very long, only increasing the bitter taste in the end: after investing so much time into the quest, players are blamed for something the game simply doesn't allow them to prevent.

* LowTierLetdown: [[SinisterScimitar Sabers]] are infamous for the fact that they can only be obtained from Cumans and have poorer stats compared to other types of shortswords. To give a comparison, the shortsword Shard which the player can acquire at the very start of the game requires only 3 Agility in order to have 43 slash damage and 35 stab damage, while the Hungarian Saber has the same slash damage and less stab damage at 32... while requiring an Agility stat of ''nine.''

Of course, the design idea is that whatever gear Henry could acquire in the prologue would be unusable to him, as without ''extensive'' cheating and cheesing it's impossible to leave Skalitz with stats needed to use anything else than Sir Radzig's sword... but the sabres remain inadequate for the rest of the game.

** The Headcracker gives you a chance for each head strike to instantly knock out the enemy, with armor not affecting the chance. As unconscious enemies can be easily executed with no resistance. With a bit of luck, one can bypass a lot of difficult fights. Notably, Headcracker activates even when using ''stab'' attacks, which are far easier to perform and even ''spam'' than doing overhead swings.
