* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Nurse Patsey trying to do what she can to give Jamie the emotional support and care she has desperately needed, as does Rachel, who seems to have stayed a lot closer to Jamie than their parents did since last year.
** Scrappy or not, Tina undeniably has a positive impact on Jamie, and it's lovely to see the normally stoic and traumatized Jamie break into a genuine smile when she spots Tina. It's even sweeter when Jamie sees Tina after narrowly saving her from Michael posing as Mikey, and says her name, with Tina reacting in pure happiness at hearing her regain her voice after a year.
** Even though Michael possessed Jamie into stabbing her mother, Rachel holds zero ill will against Jamie, and their very well-established bond is just as strong as it was in the previous movie, and as usual Rachel is always looking out for Jamie.
** [[spoiler: Tina and Jamie trying to protect each other during the car chase scene in a heartbreaking way as to the very end they were willing to put their lives at risk just to get Michael away from their best friend]]
** Narm or not, the kitten scene was a lovely change of pace.

** [[spoiler: Some fans believe that Tina might have survived for a similar reason to Rachel in that she dies a relatively non graphic death (stabbed in the chest once) to the point of actually being alive for a while after it. Although like Rachel the film makes it quite clear with Jamie's reaction that Tina is no more.]]

** [[spoiler: Although they are annoying Clown Cops, Deputy Nick and Deputy Tom were shown to be genuinely good natured if bumbling police officers who actually could be competent at their job, and were very passionate about it, they certainly didn't deserve a pitchfork to the throat.]]

** The scene where Michael is called uncle, sheds [[SingleTear a tear]], takes off his mask, and reels back in shame when Jamie tries to touch him could be considered {{Narm}}. But, consider this; Michael may be FAR from sympathetic, but it seemed that there was at least some bit of humanity in his heart. Considering he never openly takes any joy in killing (just pure emotionless killing, with some sinister tendencies), this implies that Michael is a slave to evil. A disease that can never, EVER be cured. And for a moment...he knew this.
** Earlier, the death of Deputy Charlie while protecting Jamie from Michael inside the Myers House. Up to his last breath, he tried to comfort Jamie in spite of the circumstances and commended her for her bravery (while [[WhatTheHellHero taking Loomis to task]] for endangering Jamie by using her as a means to the end of stopping Michael once and for all).
** [[spoiler: Jamie seeing Rachel’s PeekABooCorpse in the attic. As if she hadn't been through enough up to that point. Creator/DanielleHarris's performs "Rachel NOO!" so convincingly both with her heartbroken scream and look of despair, that you'll be reaching for the tissues soon.]]
*** [[spoiler: If that's not bad enough when Jamie hears Michael walking up the stairs, she asks Rachel's lifeless body to help her, really setting in the reality that the very sweet and genuine FinalGirl of Halloween 4 is gone forever and that besides [[DesignatedHero Loomis]] Jamie has no one to protect her from Michael with Rachel, Tina and Deputy Bloch dead]]
** [[spoiler: When Jamie reaches Michael's empty cell she utters a heartbreaking "No...No!", Halloween 6 makes it worse with the knowledge that she was kidnapped straight after, the poor girl couldn't even mourn Rachel and Tina in peace and her nightmare was sadly far from over.]]
** During an earlier scene in the movie, Rachel is seen with mascara running down her face, implying she was crying out of sight of Jamie and her friends over what Jamie's going through.
** Jamie having an emotional breakdown as she desperately begs Tina not to leave for the party.
** Jamie trying to hide from Michael says the single most heartbreaking line in the film, “please don’t let him get me, please god”, for an otherwise rather goofy slasher movie this is a genuinely hard-hitting line that highlights the utter injustice of Jamie's situation.
** [[spoiler: While Tina wasn't exactly the most likeable character ever, it's disheartening to see her get stabbed to death while trying to save Jamie, her final words after being stabbed was a tearful plea for Jamie to run, and worse still is seeing Jamie tearfully shout her name after her death and breaking down when she sees her corpse get carried into the ambulance, for all of Tina's many flaws her death highlighted that she was a genuinely NiceGirl willing to die to protect Jamie.]]
*** [[spoiler: Also considering how goofy Tina was as a character, [[KillTheCutie her death is played painfully serious]] and Wendy Kaplan does a very good job portraying her final moments, with her closing her eyes before Michael stabs her and lying there bleeding to death, weakly shouting at Jamie and Billy to run.]]
** [[spoiler: Rachel's death, seeing the badass and genuinely loveable final girl of the previous film get stabbed to death 20 minutes into this film is heartbreaking considering the hell she went through in 4. [[FridgeSadness It's also worse when you realize that the final thing she saw before Michael killed her, was a picture of Jamie that Michael destroyed, so like Tina she knew that Jamie was in danger but couldn't save her this time]].]]
** [[spoiler: The deaths of badass cop Sheriff Meeker is a tough blow considering how likeable and competent he was and that he dies in the last minute off the film(offscreen too)]]
** The death of the hermit at the beginning, he saves Michaels's life, lets him recover at his house for a year and what does he get in return? Ruthlessly and pointlessly murdered, talk about NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Tina Williams. A large section of the fanbase sees her as an outright scrappy who acts obnoxiously and is prone to making bad decisions, with some very selfish tendencies. However, as a result of her genuine care for Jamie, having a very adorable GenkiGirl personality as well as Wendy Kaplan's sympathetic performance, much of the fanbase has warmed to her in recent years.

* TooBleakStoppedCaring: One of the main reasons for the film's [[{{Sequelitis}} more negative reputation amongst fans]]. Between the movie [[spoiler:killing off [[EnsembleDarkHorse Rachel, one of the more likable characters from the previous film]] [[ReplacementScrappy in favor of focusing on her more annoying best friend]] Tina]], the inclusion of annoying, incompetent, and downright idiotic characters you’re rooting for Michael to kill, and the overall bleak feeling the film sets up like the aforementioned [[spoiler:death of Rachel and even the ''ending'' where you believe that everything is fine now that Michael is in jail, only for the Man In Black to show up, free Michael, kill ''all'' the cops, and leave Jamie all alone with her knowing it’s never going to end (and the [[Film/HalloweenTheCurseOfMichaelMyers next film]] making it [[FromBadToWorse even worse knowing she’s been kidnapped by the cult just moments later]])]], a lot of fans find it hard to root for anyone or anything in the movie.

** Jamie screaming at Michael to chase her instead of Tina goes from heartbreaking to hilarious in a second when you notice that Billy who is standing next to her quite clearly has a "what the fuck, no" look on his face.

** When Jamie reaches Michael's empty cell she utters a heartbreaking "No...No!"

** Despite [[spoiler: Despite Tina being a BaseBreakingCharacter at best and scrappy at worst, she dies sacrificing herself so that Jamie can get to safety, it made worse that unlike most victims she doesn't suffer an InstantDeathStab, instead dying while tearfully and weakly urging Jamie and Billy to run from Michael. Jamie's reaction to it seals the deal that as annoying as Tina was, her death was undeserved and that Michael once again destroyed another piece of happiness Jamie had.]]

** [[ Although Mikey was an unlikeable prick without any real decent features, his death is still extremely brutal and his twitching on the ground after the rake hits him in the face is hard to witness.]]

* CatharsisFactor: Loomis beating the ever-loving shit out of Michael with a plank of wood is easily one of the most satisfying defeats of Michael in the series, although it doesn't last

** Tina was meant to be a likeable and sympathetic GenkiGirl who really cares about Jamie, however for many she's extremely obnoxious and makes the unsympathetic decision to ignore a tearful Jamie's warnings that Michael is after her so she can go off and party. Although it could be intentional that Tina is a deconstruction of the FinalGirl trope.

** Tina's incredibly over the top "LEAVEE HER ALOOONE" would be funny but its genuinely heartwarming only to become far HarsherInHindsight with her death 5 minutes later

** Despite [[spoiler:Tina]] being disliked, she dies sacrificing herself so that Jamie can get to safety.
** [[spoiler:Samantha]] can be just as annoying as Tina, but the way she tries to fight back against Michael, unlike most of his victims, makes some fans feel bad for her once she dies.
** [[spoiler: Although they are annoying Clown Cops, Deputy Nick and Deputy Tom were shown to be genuinely good natured if bumbling police officers who actually could be competent at their job(they didn't instantly shoot Spitz for pretending to be Michael, compare that to Halloween II's cops ramming a car into poor Ben Tramer) and were very passionate about it, they certainly didn't deserve a pitchfork to the throat.]]

** Scrappy or not, Tina undeniably has a positive impact on Jamie and its lovely to see the normally stoic and traumatized Jamie break into a genuine smile when she spots Tina
** Tina's look of pure joy when Jamie finally regains the ability to speak is a very sweet and touching moment.

* DesignatedHero: Dr. Loomis is supposed to be a heroic, confident and sacrificial psychiatrist like in the previous films, but here, he's shown to be a unlikable, cranky jerk who bothers Jamie for information of Michael Myers and lashes out at her for keeping quiet and even ''uses her as bait'' to get Michael into his trap.

** Jamie screaming at Michael to chase her instead of Tina goes from heartbreaking to hilarious in a second when you notice that Billy who is standing next to her quite clearly has a "what the fuck, no" look on his face

* TheScrappy: Spitz, Mikey, Samantha, Billy, the two comic relief cops.... Really, it's just a cast full of Scrappies. [[spoiler:[[TakeThatScrappy Thankfully they all die by the end of the movie]], except for Billy (who's mercifully the least offensive of them).]]

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Tina Williams. A large section of the fanbase sees her as an outright scrappy who acts obnoxiously and is prone to making bad decisions, with some very selfish tendencies. However, as a result of her final moments, her genuine care for Jamie, having a very adorable GenkiGirl personality as well as Wendy Kaplan's sympathetic performance, much of the fanbase has warmed to her in recent years.

** The kindly Deputy Charlie is last seen struggling to escape the noose Michael hangs him with. Since his body is never seen and he is never mentioned again, it can be nice to how that he somehow survived.

** [[spoiler: Although they are annoying Clown Cops, Deputy Nick and Deputy Tom were shown to be genuinely good natured if bumbling police officers who actually could be competent at their job(they didn't instantly shoot Spitz for pretending to be Michael, compare that to Halloween IIs cops ramming a car into poor Ben Tramer) and were very passionate about it, they certainly didn't deserve a pitchfork to the throat.]]
