* HarsherInHindsight:
** Fer.al appeared to be a very promising game with a large player-base, good graphics and an ongoing story. However, in late 2021 it was abruptly cancelled before ever coming out of its early access phase and replaced with the NFT game ''VideoGame/{{Cinder}}''. Adding salt into the wound, ''this'' game ended up being shut down in early 2023, rendering Fer.al defunct for no good reason.
** Furthermore, Fer.al had a fairly pricey microtransaction system with the Astral Shop, with many players spending real money for the items. Players did not get their money back when the game shut down, and never will.

* MemeticMutation: Corn. [[labelnote:Explanation]]In late 2021, several users reacted to Creator/WildWorks announcing the NFT blockchain-based game ''Cinder'' (which reuses ''Fer.al'''s assets) by sending CEO Clark Stacey pictures of corn and were subsequently blocked by him. The game's Discord community latched onto the sheer ridiculousness of a CEO blocking people over ''corn cobs'' and have taken to using corn imagery to poke fun at Stacey.[[/labelnote]]
* OvershadowedByControversy: The game is now mostly known for its disastrous downfall following the revelation that [=WildWorks=] was developing an [[UsefulNotes/{{Bitcoin}} NFT-based]] game known as ''Cinder'' using its assets, which led to significant backlash from the playerbase and the game getting abruptly shut down in February of 2022.

It's been well over six months and, if you talk about Fer.al, this is most likely going to come up.

Sometimes the giant Kiteray in Lakeroot Valley starts spinning in place for several seconds.seconds.
** In October 2021, an update somehow made it so that if a player teleported to another player in City Fera, the shaders would stop working for the player that teleported. This resulted in [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cityfera_2021_10_08_12_13_57p.jpg the skybox turning white while far-away structures took on a pink tinge.]]

* FridgeBrilliance: The constant appearance of shooting stars in City Fera isn't just a stylistic choice. One of the planet's moons shattered some time in the past; while the larger pieces have mostly stayed together, whatever caused the breakup of Attis sent rocky debris floating into space. Meteors are caused by debris being subjected to friction in a planet's atmosphere. Dust and rocks from Attis are regularly pulled in by Feral's gravity and burned up in the atmosphere, producing shooting stars. Alternatively, given how the tutorial begins with the player as a brilliant point of light falling from the sky, some of them could be Sparks arriving on the planet for the first time.

* ThatOneSidequest: "Stray Puppies" and "Ultimate Refreshment" both require the player to track down objects in the mistiest part of Hallowmist Crossing, making it impossible to spot the items from a distance. The search radius for the items encapsulates the majority of that part of Hallowmist, meaning the items are more spread-out. The items are also often tucked away in corners, requiring players to scour the entire area. "Ultimate Refreshment" ups the ante by [[TimedMission requiring the player to find all five plants within five minutes]]; failing to do so wipes the progress made toward finding the plants and necessitates starting that part of the quest over.
