* AcceptableTargets: Garry was always the butt of jokes on the forums but everything surrounding the shutdown has made him even more of this.

** Played straight for the [[http://wikipunch.com/2015_forum_section_reshuffle 2015 forum section reshuffle.]] A large amount of subforums were deleted and moved to General Discussions. Combined with the return of the one-column forum index, '''many''' hated the change for the increased space taken and wipe-outs for some communities.

* InternetBackdraft: The circumstances surrounding the shutdown. Around a year into the new forums, Garry announced the cessation of any development, the first warning sign. This was particularly galling since the new forums lacked quite a bit of functionality, including private messages. For a while, Garry was suggesting (either passive-aggressively or just plain aggressively) that he was sick of the forums and considering shutting them down. This all came to a head in early 2019 when Garry put up a thread with a poll asking if he should shut down the forums. Despite an overwhelming 'no' vote, he did so anyway. The only reason other users knew was because some of the moderators all but stated it happening in 48 hours. The message that is currently on the page that hosted the forums only made things worse as he acts like he was proud of the forums when he made it quite obvious he wasn't.

* ArchiveBinge: Innocently looking through pages of any thread can possibly result in this.
* JustHereForGodzilla: As mentioned before, alot of people join for the various communities and not the VideoGame/GarrysMod or VideoGame/{{Rust}} related content.
* {{Squick}}: The infamous [[https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1500024 "I need help with a few models"]] thread. Saying anything more would spoil the surprise... so why not just [[http://knowyourmeme.com/videos/147143-sonic-the-hedgehog watch a video for the highlights?]] Just be sure you don't mind losing your sanity.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Anytime Garry changes something on the forum, someone is going to complain. Regarding the forum section reshuffles which were more drastic, however...

** Now a redux in the works, [[https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1520557 Facepunch 2.0]] which will replace the entire forum, is quickly gaining traction due to the Website/{{Reddit}}-esque changes and 16x16 avatars, many arguing that it stripped off almost everything what made Facepunch so unique from other social networking sites and online forums. This is assuming that the supposed "changes" aren't [[TrollingCreator completely made up on Garry Newman's part.]]
