* TheWoobie: Jon. He is constantly mistreated by Eduardo, and at one point in their debut episode he gets punched by Eduardo for ''no reason'', and when he tries to point out that he didn't even say anything, Eduardo just yells at him to shut up. [[spoiler:It only got worse in "The End", as not only did Eduardo wish that he was dead, but he actually ended up dying [[KilledOffForReal for real]] near the end of the episode.]] Many viewers agree that he did ''not'' deserve this.

** There are people that complained about Jon dying in "The End", declaring it pointless and mean to Eduardo (who had already lost someone close to him back in "[=MovieMakers=]"), the reason for it[[note]]His voice actor, Eddie Bowley, was leaving the show.[[/note]] inexcusable, and saying that they should've just given him TheOtherDarrin treatment rather than outright killing him off, given that's what they did with Tord.

** Laurel from "[=MovieMakers=]", due to being a token cute girl and getting along well with the main boys. Some people even expected her to become a mainstay in the series, and were understandably upset about her death.

* AngstWhatAngst: Aside from a single webcomic, Eduardo is never shown or stated to be upset about his girlfriend Laurel's death. Not even "[=PowerEdd=]", where Eduardo was TemporarilyAVillain, makes any reference to it (the given reason instead being that Eduardo came in second place in a drawing competition, whereas Edd came in first).

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Near the end of "Mirror Mirror", Ell briefly goes through the mirror to take back a sword that landed in the boys' universe. That could've allowed for an interesting plot in a future episode with the boys traveling to the girls' universe or vice-versa, but unfortunately Matt drops and breaks the mirror in the end out of fright. So much for ''that''...

%%* GrowingTheBeard: Eddsworld was always a rapid-fire comedy at best, developing a narrative structure by "Christmas Special 2004", but "Zombeh Nation" is when it really got good.

** Many people complained about Tord leaving the series after "Moving Targets". While it was due to his real life self leaving the show, that doesn't excuse his ''character'' leaving, considering Thomas Ridgewell left after the Legacy era yet his character is still in the show. He finally makes a reappearance in "The End"... where his character is completely changed and he ends the episode off denouncing his friendship with the other three.

** The ''Beyond'' era, for the same reason as the ''Legacy'' era, as well as having no involvement from Thomas Ridgewell, Tord not returning, and [[KilledOffForReal Jon being dead]]. [[spoiler:Oh, and Laurel's ''still'' dead and Eduardo's now depressed.]]

** The ''Ellsworld'' girls only made one appearance during the ''Legacy'' era. This appears to no longer be the case as of the ''Beyond'' era, as "Casting Call" and "Slippery Slope" make it clear that they will appear more.
