* OvershadowedByControversy: Everything else about the game's release was overshadowed by discussion about the game's monetization model. ** One shot from the trailer apparently references the Creation of Adam painting. * AuthorsSavingThrow: After the "Augment your Pre-order" program was widely criticized by fans, Square-Enix listened to the complaints and cancelled the program. The game will now be released on the same day for everyone, and ALL of the pre-order content that was to be a part of the program will now be available to anyone to who pre-orders. As of January 2017, the pre-order content is now available to anyone that owns Mankind Divided.

** A minor one with ''VideoGame/CallOfDutyBlackOpsIII'' (Considering ''Black Ops'' came out in November 2015 and this is set for August 2016). Due to the rather jovial nature of the tweets, it may evolve into FriendlyFandoms.

* GameBreaker: The Micro-Assembler augmentation. The ability to break down almost ''anything'' in your inventory into crafting parts, plus cut down on the amount of parts needed to craft items, means you'll never run out of things like Biocells. Use it in ''A Criminal Past'' or ''System Rift'', and it completely unbalances the gameplay, turning much of it into a cakewalk.
