* InformedAttractiveness: Soryu is repeatedly stated to have been the most beautiful woman in the world, whose mere appearance could stun both men and women. And while Soko is certainly drawn to be beautiful, given this is ''Shinohara'''s drawing, she does not look any more beautiful than most other women.

* MagnificentBastard: Takao. He clones Rago and creates Soko, with the plan to have her resurrect the Oni tribe. He stays in the background, but when his cover-identity is [[TimeBomb literally blown]], he steps into the spotlight and becomes the main antagonist to the two heroes. When Akira and Soko steal Rago's hair so that he cannot create any more clones of her, Takao merely points out that this will only cause him to be all the more aggressive in getting Soko to fulfill her role as Soryu. And even when all seems fine and Soko looks like she'll be happy with Akira, he ''knows'' she'll come back out of a sense of responsibility of having created Oni... and that she will want them to live. And even ''just before he gets finally killed'', his last words to Soko [[TakeCareOfTheKids are only done so she will not abandon the Oni and lead them]]! Man, this guy is ''good''!

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Akira as the Byakko, his stance in that all Oni are evil because they feast on humans and should therefore be killed, disregarding their right to live and even thinking that Takao's words of "Oni eat humans" being a part of a natural balance in the eco-system, akin to wolves eating deers, are complete bull. Is he really so short-sighted that he cannot see that Takao is technically right and becomes practically a KnightTemplar in order to protect humans and fulfill his duty as the Byakko? Or does he react as one would think in the face of the truth and simply doesn't want to admit it?
