* Music/ThePussycatDolls made a prominent appearance in ''[[VideoGame/{{Asphalt}} Asphalt: Urban GT 2]]'', but bizarrely enough, not only was their presence limited to just loading and post-race summary screens, ''none of their music was featured in the game at all'', instead featuring "Lift Me Up" by Music/{{Moby}}.[[note]]Or in the case of the PSP release, "Apply Some Pressure" by Maxïmo Park.[[/note]] Surely they could have paid a bit more on royalties and had the girl group's music blaring in the background, but Gameloft seems to have hired the girls on the basis of [[SexSells sex appeal]] and nothing else.

** Even if it technically isn't the weakest Pokémon, Magikarp is iconic enough for its JokeCharacter status that it got a mobile game entirely focused on it as ''VideoGame/PokemonMagikarpJump'', and Gyarados' inclusion in ''VideoGame/PokemonUnite'' [[https://twitter.com/PokemonUnite/status/1741625291309514856 was promoted]] as Magikarp's instead.

*** To put it in perspective, she's the sole Darkstalker in FOUR games: ''Marvel vs. Capcom'', ''Capcom vs. SNK'', ''Capcom vs. SNK 2'', and ''Tatsunoko vs. Capcom''. She also was added to the UsefulNotes/SegaDreamcast version of ''VideoGame/{{Gunbird}} 2''. Given that she's essentially a [[ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything Pirate Who Doesn't Do Anything]] (succubi are supposed to use their charms to corrupt good men's souls, not get modelling gigs), that's pretty impressive.
*** The cover to the first ''[=NeoGeo=] Pocket Color Selection'' for the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch prominently features Morrigan and Ryu (due to their appearance in ''Videogame/SNKVsCapcomMatchOfTheMillennium'') despite them not actually being SNK characters. ''Vol 2'''s cover is even less subtle about this, not only bringing back Ryu, but also adding Chun-Li, Cammy and several ''VideoGame/{{Mega Man|Classic}}'' characters, all of whom are displayed very prominently at the front of the group.

* ''VideoGame/GodOfWar''[='=]s Kratos has become Creator/SonyComputerEntertainment's Wolverine, seeing as how he appeared in ''VideoGame/SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny'' as per fan-request as well as the UsefulNotes/{{P|layStation3}}S3 version of ''VideoGame/MortalKombat9''. He's also stated to be the "beginner's character" in ''VideoGame/PlayStationAllStarsBattleRoyale'', similar to Mario in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros''

* Shortly after Creator/LJNToys (and therefore Creator/{{Acclaim}}, which bought them out around the same time) acquired the rights to churn out Spider-Man {{Licensed Game}}s, they made sure to shoehorn a "SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY SPIDER-MAN®" (as MissionControl) into their UsefulNotes/GameBoy version of ''ComicBook/ThePunisher''. Oddly enough, LJN/Acclaim also held the rights to Wolverine but didn't give him this sort of treatment.
