* EnsembleDarkHorse: Bowser in all his adorableness has become quite popular with fans of the webcomic, placing 3rd in the 1st Popularity Poll, and later moving up to 2nd place in the next despite the fact that he is not a central character. He even got his own episode [[ADayINTheLimeLight dedicated just to him]] which is just as awesome and cute as it sounds. Charles himself has become one as well (even earning the top spot in the 2nd Popularity Poll) starting off at first as Sam's commanding and intimidating boss but eventually revealed as a [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold caring]], intelligent man who works to support Sam and help her grow.[[spoiler: He even becomes one of her main Love Interests, with most fans [[FanPreferredCouple adoring]] their interactions and fully supporting the ship.]]

* FamilyThemeNaming: The young family are actually all named "Sam" with the father being Samuel Sr., the mother Samantha, the son is Samuel Jr. (though he goes by Jay) and the daugher's full name is Samara (the only one who goes by 'Sam')

* HeartSymbol: In a clear reference to a Heart's typical use in [[HeartsArehealth video games]], a row of three hearts represent the various characters and their relationships with each other, most obvious being the hearts in the title representing the growing relationships between [[spoiler: Sam, Marshall, Charles, Link and Angela.]]

* LovesMyAlterEgo: World of WarQuest player Dion appears to develop quite the crush on Sam's character Ariadne, but realizes "Ariadne" is Sam. Abe then pieces together that "Dion" is Marshall. [[spoiler: Later Marshall confesses to Sam that he is "Dion". Which Sam admits she already figured it out.]]

* {{Nosebleed}}: [[spoiler: Sam suffers from them before, during, and after her "Date" with Link everytime she has a sexual thought, much to her annoyance. She ends up watching porn at the advice of Vikki and Angela to help "cure" herself.]] Lampshaded by some of the characters as not biologically possible in real life. But this is an {{Animesque}} inspired Webcomic after all.

* TrueCompanions: Sam's Guild led by Abraham, who calls the guild his family, is this despite the bickering usually caused by {{Token Evil Teamate}} and resident {{Jerkass}} Dallas. The rest of the guild actually get along quite well and are quite supportive of each other, thanks in part to three of the members [[PowerTrio Sam, Vikki, and Angela]] actually being best friends already.

** In [[https://www.webtoons.com/en/romance/letsplay/ep-159/viewer?title_no=1218&episode_no=167 chapter 159]], Sam and Charles' relationship develops sweetly, with them getting more intimate and Charles slowly but surely lowering his barriers around Sam. It culminates in Charles' hearts finally getting thawed, and developping feelings for Sam. The chapter could have ended there, on an heartwarming note. However, [[spoiler:the last two images tell a very different story, hinting at their relationship becoming unhealthy. Charles' hearts are seen sprouting out chains and linking with Sam's, and the very last image of the strip is Charles looking at a sleeping Sam, who now has illusionary chains all over her body, and Charles having this single, ominous thought]]:

* ShipDerailment: [[spoiler: Despite how popular SamXCharles became with the fans, it is shown that thier relationship may not be the healthiest for either Sam or Charles due to thier own personal issues.]]

* SignificantNameShift: Sam always calls Marshall Law, "Marshall" [[spoiler: despite learning his real first name is Benjamin. She eventually casually calls him "Benji" the nickname his family has for him. Marshall is quite touched by this, showing how close he and same have gotten since the beginning of the story.]]

* TrueCompanions: Sam's Guild led by Abraham, who calls the guild his family, is this despite the bickering usually caused by {{Token Evil Teammate}} and resident {{Jerkass}} Dallas. * TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest: [[spoiler: Charles]] is shown to have closed his heart off to caring for another due to [[spoiler: his ex-wife having an affair]] shown by the Hearts representing him to be frozen.

* InLoveWithMyAlterEgo: World of WarQuest player Dion appears to develop quite the crush on Sam's character Ariadne, but realizes "Ariadne" is Sam. Abe then pieces together that "Dion" is Marshall.
