* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Sakurai was a mainstay of the comic during its early days in Ultimate's releasing days. For the reviving characters arc, he inexplicably vanished, and his disappearance has yet to be explained.

** Sharla also qualifies, as she uses her rifle to help revive Shulk, and is among the grouo of healers helping the good guys during the battle for the Smash House.

* OutOfFocus: Pichu's masochism, an exaggeration from its original ''Smash'' appearance, was a prominent gag in the early days of the comic, whether as the main punchline or a background gag. Later on, Pichu would be side-lined in terms of screentime to the point where its masochism was hardly one of its defining traits. %%most explicitly shown in "Defibrillamon", where Pichu's self-harming tendencies was pushed aside for the main punchline of it and Pikachu being jacked up in electricity.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: Between the Revival Arc and the Paldea Arc, Incineroar, Kazuya, and Sephiroth have essentially become the main characters of the comic. For the former two, this is notable in that the author expressed his dislike for Incineroar as a character when it was first revealed as an ''Ultimate'' newcomer (having a preference for fellow ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'' Starter Decidueye), and that he had no knowledge of the ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'' franchise upon Kazuya's reveal. As of Tears of the Kingdom arc, they're currently PutOnABus.

** The second Arc features Incineroar, Kazuya, and [[HeelFaceTurn Sephiroth]] vacationing in [[VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet Paldea]] and getting into various antics there, and later they are joined by Daisy, Luigi, Kirby, Sora, the Duck Hunt Duo, Kirby and Sonic; meanwhile, the Smash House deals with a Maushold infestation and eventual takeover after a few of the mouse-like Pokémon sneaks into their House.

* SubvertedSuspicionAesop: Cloud is treated by the rest of the roster as wrong for refusing to trust Sephiroth even after his HeelFaceTurn. [[CassandraTruth He was right the whole time.]] As soon as Cloud finally relents and gives Sephiroth a chance, [[FalselyReformedVillain he stabs everyone in the back]]. Naturally, once Cloud is finally revived, he is ''not happy'' that he no one believed him until it bit them all in the ass.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: The "Return of Subspace" arc happens because no one decided to tell the post ''Brawl'' Smashers (or the ''Melee'' characters who didn't return for ''Brawl'') about [[spoiler:Tabuu, who was sealed in a box in the basement that Dark Pit asked Sora to unlock.]]

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: The "Return of Subspace" arc happens because no one decided to tell the post ''Brawl'' Smashers about [[spoiler:Tabuu, who was sealed in a box in the basement that Dark Pit asked Sora to unlock.]]

** In ''Infatuation Specation'', Amy Rose is giving Sonic a DeathGlare while he and Coco Bandicoot deal with the fact that everyone saw them just confess their love to each other.

* FunnyBackgroundEvent: In ''Big Boy Battle'', [[spoiler: When Gigantamax Incineroar is being pulled down by Team Star's Backup, there's a random Chansey helping as well]].

* TemptingFate: In "Dinner Despair", (Dr.) Mario advises Cloud to let bygones be bygones and start trusting Sephiroth... right before everyone drops dead from the latter's poison.

** Implied, but not outright confirmed as of now. When Sephiroth [[spoiler:thwarts the fighters' plan of using their newly obtained OlympusMons with Giratina, Cyrus can be seen in the back in the Distortion World. Whether this implies that they teamed up or the Team Galactic leader being there is a FunnyBackgroundEvent remains to be seen.]]

* BeachEpisode: Entitled, "Everyone is at the Beach", it focuses on Luigi, who is [[AppearanceAngst uncomfortable about going out in just swimtrunks]] after seeing the more attractive fighters out and about. Of course, [[AnAesop the aesop]] he learns is about being comfortable about one's own body.

** When Zelda wakes up naked during the ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTearsOfTheKingdom Tears of the Kingdom]]'' arc, her breasts are covered first with a few Little Froxes then in dust clouds.

* SmokingHotSex: In [[https://www.woodenplankstudios.com/comic/i-can-has-diagnosis/ "I Can Has Diagnosis"]] Samus can be seen lying topless in bed with a lit cigar, presumably after having lain with Snake.

** Ganondorf is also this, as he beats up the Yiga clan for offering his fellow fighters as a sacrifice.
