A third answer to the whole “Did Jason and Michelle actually go on those adventures or where they just daydreaming?” question. The adventures that the show presented are the product of Jason and Michelle’s daydreams.
However, the adventures that the Rockhopper crew went on did actually happen, the way they occurred just differs from what happens in the show. How differently did they occur, besides Jason and Michelle’s absence? Well, there were planets that needed to be saved, but there was no moralizing present, i.e, there was a lighthouse that needed repairing in “Runaway Pride at Lightstation Kilowatt” , but there was no speech to Zidgel in that lectured him about pride. Or there was someone who acted impulsively and went through the jelly wormhole instead of going around it in “Do Unto Brothers”, but there was no talk of “working together”.
Or to add examples that don’t just remove the moralizing elements, there was an island in “Wiki Tiki” that needed to be saved from an active volcano, but the Rockhopper crew most likely just ordered the aurora borealis fruit punch to-go and did whatever they needed to do to save the planet, and they talked to the actual Tiki king and not the Easter Island head.
