In the original, only the Laser, Cube, Spikes, and Frenzy wisps were used. The remaster will use all the wisps in its attacks.

* Yellow Drill: A drill will burst through the floor, fly into the air, and burrow back into the floor, before coming back up again. The drill will continue this sequence in a sine wave pattern.
* Orange Rocket: Rocket-shaped projectiles will be launched at Sonic and explode on impact.
* Green Hover: A shockwave will make Sonic float off the ground (similar to how he floats when lifted up by the air current from fans) and in the path of asteroids.

These will be new challenges in the Wii style with the interactions from the DS version. They may not be given full cutscenes, but just text dialogue like most handheld games and Team Sonic Racing.
