Both of them were out on parole at Scheider. At the time of the killing. As a result, major controversies erupted over the decision to place murder, both of them were serving time in prison for various crimes but were out on parole. Robert Noel and Marjorie Knoller, the two lawyers who advocated placing the duo on parole as were later found to have failed to disclose a conflict of interests for the duo parole hearing as they were both good friends with them. Later testimony revealed that Janet had assaulted an acquaintance of Robert and Paul had run a motorist off the road and threatened them with a gun in a road rage incident; neither of these incidents were reported to police. Janet and Paul were sentenced to life in prison without parole for Diane's murder and Robert and Marjorie were disbarred for unethical behavior. Regardless, controversy still remains over how Janet and Paul were even eligible for parole given that they were serving prison sentences for armed robbery and they were both known to be violent career criminals.criminals with extensive criminal records.

* Bojack tried to sue the writers of ''Series/SabrinaTheTeenagedWitch'' for having a character named Sabrina. (He was a bit high at the time.) The case was thrown out as a personal name cannot be trademarked and anyway, the comic predated ''Horsin' Around''. [[Creator/NickBakay Nick Bombay]] (who, despite his name, is an American Shorthair "And proud of it".) was a former circus brat who was trained in acrobatics and contortionism but really wanted to go into comedy. When he hand some other comic writers got together to come up with a show, someone suggested adapting one of the old Archie comics, noting that one of the characters is a black cat named Salem. In this universe, Salem is a wizard who happened to be a black cat. When he attempted world domination, the Wizard Council punished him by removing his arms. [[WMG: Ancient Egypt....]]
Most of the early royal families of Ancient Egypt were cats and were treated as though semi-divine. These cats were tall, slender and short furred, usually with a tabby or ticked pattern. Pharoah Khafre was behind the construction of the Pyramids of Giza. The Spinx, believed to be modeled after him, is a giant stone bipedal cat enthroned as he gazes upon his creation. Many of the Ancient Egyptian gods are animals as they appear on the show. Ammit is depicted as more bipedal in this world, but is still a huge, heart eating monster. Pharoah of the tale of Moses in the Bible is commonly depicted as a cat, turning many modern cats off on Abrahamic religion. The Ptolemic Dynasty saw more Romans and Macedonians enter the ruling class. They were mostly humans, horses and wolves. Cleopatra's personal physician was an asp who she pleaded to bring her death when she learned of Marc Anthony's death. Egyptian art depicts Cleopatra as a cat while Roman art depicts her as a wolf and Greek art depicts her as a horse. A few artworks even depict her as human. Which one she really was is a matter of historical debate. It is believed she was buried with Anthony, but their tomb has never been found.

In this world, rodeos are a proud staple of blue-collar horse culture. (Upper-class horses tend to look down on it.) It consists of horses and bulls dressed in western wear chasing each other around with lariats. The champion is whoever can rope up the most opponents in the least amount of time. If you get roped yourself, you're out of the game. Think dodge ball with ropes. Bojack has an uncle on Butterscotch's side who taught him how to use a lariat, which came in handy when saving the baby seahorse. Beatrice discouraged him from associating with such "riff-raff" which was a shame. Uncle Cocoa would've been a much better role model than either of Bojack's parents.

* Joe Camel was a model and small-time actor in the 50's when he got his big break starring in commercials for Camels cigarettes. When the FCC made it illegal to advertise cigarettes on TV, Joe was continued to be used in magazines and billboards. In the 60's, Camel's got on board the feminism train by producing Humps, cigarettes marketed to women. Joe personally "auditioned" the models to advertise Humps. He made enough money by 1987 to invest in a Las Vegas hotel/casino he called "Joe's Place" where he often hosted photo shoots for magazine ads. He was criticized for making smoking look cool, especially for young people. Joe laughed off the claims, until he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1997. His last photoshoot was of himself in an empty casino, his fur fallen out and looking very unglamorous. It was his way of repenting his years as a cigarette spokesperson. He died before the ad went to print.

While Roy claims that the botched trick was an attempt by Mantacore to force him to cancel the show and see a doctor for a persistent injury, the spokesman for Mantacore, Chris Lawrence claims that it was due to Mantacore not being properly trained to perform the trick. In addition, he also claims that the duo and the Mirage Casino covered up the real reason for the incident to protect their reputations.

* Willie Wolfe, a founding member of the Symbionese Liberation Army, was indeed a wolf. He adopted the name "Kahjoh" but the media (to his annoyance)misspelled it as "Cujo". A few years after Wolfe's death after a gunfight with LAPD, Stephen King would write a novel about a St. Bernard mechanic named Cujo who contracted a zombie virus after trying to help a bat that he thought had been in an accident. (Actually, a zombie virus infected a local bat burial ground.) King doesn't remember why exactly he made the title character a St. Bernard rather than a wolf, though it's speculated to work with the "work of fiction...resemblance to real people" disclaimer.

* [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilikum_(orca) Tilikum]] was a native Icelandic orca forced into a life of indentured servitude due to unscrupulous employment agencies. He spent most of his life as an entertainer at Sealand of the Pacific and later Seaworld, both of them competing marine fantasyland theme parks. He is known to have killed three humans.
** Keltie Lee Byrne was the supervisor of Nootka, Haida and Tilikum who had cheated the three performers out of their pay in order to keep them longer as indentured servants and who allowed the non-indentured performers to harass and abuse the indentured performers. As a result, the three orcas, who were indentured servants, murder her in retaliation for cheating them out of their pay and fostering a toxic work environment. Sealand of the Pacific quickly fired the three orcas, claimed Keltie's death was a workplace accident and closed down shortly after.
** Daniel P. Dukes was a troubled vagrant with a history of petty thefts who was found dead inside Tilikum's room at Seaworld. Tilikum maintains the man was drunk, slipped and hit his head on the edge of a table. But there are rumors Tilikum caught him stealing and bludgeoned him to death.
** Dawn Brancheau was Tilikum's supervisor at Seaworld whom he attacked (and later died from the injuries he inflicted) after she touched him despite him warning her that he wanted to be left alone. This then resulted in an investigation, followed by the award-winning documentary film ''{{Film/Blackfish}}'' that revealed deceptive hiring practices, use of indentured servants as staff, abusive working conditions for the marine mammal staff as well as extreme workplace toxicity and bullying that was ignored, if not encouraged by upper management.

* [[Series/MisterEd Mr. Ed]] was a TV show in the early to mid 60's, but with a very different premise. Shortly after architect Wilber Post built a cottage on his property to use as an office, his old college roommate Ed Lane (Played by Bamboo Harvester) showed up, disowned by his rich family due to his partying too hard and embarrassing the family. The first season was Wilber hiding the fact from his wife that Ed was living in his office. When Connie Hines complained that it made her character look stupid, the second season had her find out about Ed, and be OK with him living in the cottage as long as he got a job to pay for his share of groceries. From season 2 on, there was a running gag about Ed getting jobs and money-making schemes that blew up in his face. Because of the time, what he did with girls he brought to the cottage was left to inuendo and they were only shown dancing to rock music. Despite the character being something of a ladies' man, there was a rumor that Bamboo was gay. Actually, he was asexual.

Despite the character being something of a ladies' man, there was a rumor that Bamboo was gay. Actually, he was asexual.
