[[WMG:The perspective character of "Single Ladies" is a Green Lantern in the aftermath of ''ComicBook/ZeroHour''.]]
InUniverse, Duscher of ''Podcast/PlumbingTheDeathStar'' tries to pitch "How Does Dating Work in Beyoncé's Single Ladies?" by asking why "he" needs to "put a ring on it" in this universe, only for his two co-hosts to answer his question and leave him with nothing to say five minutes into the episode. This leaves the cast with another twenty minutes of the episode to fill, so they end up fumbling into an absurd theory about how Beyonce is a Franchise/GreenLantern talking about the madness of Hal Jordan suffered in ''ComicBook/ZeroHour''.

[[WMG: She's a MarySue.]]
Seems that way. Stunningly beautiful? Check. Gorgeous singing voice? Check. A dancer too, TheAce at performing, not many can beat her at it and rich and famous for it? Check. Hard-working and a sweetheart and IncorruptiblePurePureness on top of it? Check. The SpotlightStealingSquad and tends to steal the spotlight from everyone around her? Check.
** Averted, since it's impossible to write real people this way.

[[WMG: Beyonce and Jay Z faked his affair for publicity]]
Think: what's a common criticism of Beyonce's screeds about how awful guys are? That they don't feel genuine because she's happily married to Jay Z. ''Lemonade'' has been praised for it being much more personal and powerful than her other albums, and some have owed that to a real-life impetus like Hov having an affair. However, it was released onto Tidal, which he owns, they haven't announced any plans for divorce, and word-of-mouth says he's working on his own album on the matter. So, this could have been a way to help restore artistic credibility when Bey hadn't released an album in three years and ''Magna Carta...Holy Grail'' wasn't as much of a critical darling as Jay's previous albums.

** To support this Beyoncé really only seems to be addressing one person in particular and not all men.

You know how in a lot of her music videos she has two backup dancers who stand behind her and mimic her movements? They're really RidiculouslyHumanRobots. She probably got them as gifts from LadyGaga, who is secretly a MadScientist and does pop music as a hobby when she's not plotting to TakeOverTheWorld.

[[WMG: "If I Were a Boy" Doesn't Mean What We Think It Means}}
When she says, "But you're just a boy," she means, "You're too immature," or "you're not half the man you think you are," and not "you're just a male." Explains why "Boy" is used instead of "man" so frequently except in the lines, "One day you'll wish you were a better man," and "I swear I'd be a better man."
