VideoGame/AlienBreed - with SpacePirates.

Steel Force is a 1994 arcade shooter game made by (the now-defunct) Electronic Devices Italy, with a top-down gameplay format.

Set in a futuristic world, you are one of two commandoes fighting a legion of Space Pirates in their various headquarters, but halfway through your mission is interrupted by an infestation of alien monsters. And you must battle your way through multiple enemies on different alien worlds, in stages resembling mazes where you search for exits while shooting everything in your way.
----
!!Steel Force contain examples of:
* AsteroidThicket: Astaria is set in the pirates' asteroid hideout, where you cross asteroids on platforms while avoiding or shooting occasional stray asteroids the game throws at your direction.
* AttackOfTheMonsterAppendage: The boss of Akirya Planet is the head of an alien dragon-monster, who repeatedly pops it's cranium in and out of the area trying to bite you while you shoot at it. Killing it causes the entire dragon to explode, and at no point do you see the rest of the body.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Solzaar Planet is infested with giant alien grubs and maggots for you to shoot at. It climaxes with you facing the huge cranium of an ant-like monster whose feelers can slash at you from opposite ends of the screen.
* BrainInAJar: The game's FinalBoss and mastermind of the pirates turns out to be a giant mech controlled by a brain larger than you, encased in a dome. And controls a pair of turrets to attack you.
* CombiningMecha: The mid-boss of Zamox. As soon as you enter the arena, you face a single robotic core who suddenly drags pieces of armour, machinery, and turrets attaching them to itself, turning from a relatively average-sized form to a gigantic FlyingSaucer. Cue battle.
* EarthShatteringKaboom: How each and every stage ends; after destroying the boss of an alien world, you're then picked up by your evac ship, and treated to a cutscene of you flying off as the planet blows up behind you.
* FacelessEye: The last boss before you leave Akirya Planet is a gigantic green eyeball-monster thing who lumbers all around the place, and can attacvk you with EyeBeams. Expectedly, it's eye is the sole weak spot you shooot at to deal damage.
* FloorboardFailure: Be wary when you're walking above cracked floorboards - they have a tendency to break and lead to a fatal drop, that costs you a life instantly.
* LizardFolk: Akirya Planet has lizard-humanoid aliens as enemies on the same side as the pirates.
* OneManArmy: One (or two, if on two-player mode) of you against hundreds and hundreds of alien pirates and giant monsters.
* Redshirt: Astaria have a few areas where you come across dead commandoes who arrived before you, and killed either by pirates or the base's defenses.
* SegmentedSerpent: The game's second boss is a gigantic blue snake-monster whose body is depicted as a chain of round spheres moving in a zig-zagging motion all over the place. Naturally, it can only be damaged by shooting it's head.
* SentryGun: Turrets mounted on ceilings are a recurring enemy throughout the game.
* SpacePirates: The humanoid enemies are supposed to be such, though it's more of an InformedAttribute since the game throws you directly into a shootout against them and their activities aren't actually displayed onscreen.
* StationaryBoss: Both bosses in Astaria are rooted to the center of the screen during the duration of their fight.
* TentacledTerror: The first boss of Astaria is a giant mass of tentacles sticking out the ground, though it's a StationaryBoss.
* TimedMission: Three minutes per area to fight your way through mooks and obstacles, find an exit, and make your way to the boss' stage.
* AWinnerIsYou: Complete the game and you get a two-sentence congratulatory note before the credits roll. With typos in both sentences. And then the game restarts back to the first level, so have fun!
