** In Day 7, 'Papa' gives you an apple to apologize for being so distant, he gives her a very interesting tip about the apple; "They're best when they're fresh." [[spoiler: Because this quote actually symbolizes one of the worst endings in the game, being raped by your own father, he chose the one thats considered.. fresh]].

* ShownTheirWork: The story takes place over [[spoiler: 147 days]]. If you don't take your pills, [[spoiler: your father impregnates you on the 6th day. This leaves about 20 weeks until the end of the story, where you are visibly pregnant. 20 weeks is around the exact time in the second trimester your baby bump would begin to be obvious]].

* DarthWiki/NightmareFuel:
** Some of the [[DreamSequence Dream Sequences]] are truly unsettling.
*** One special notice is day 2's dream sequence. The rippling visual effects creating an uneasy and off-kilter atmosphere. It's hard to tell if you're even moving forward. Eventually, you spot something on the ground. Believing it to be an apple, you bend down and take it. You look up and see a [[EvilWearsBlack giant black creature]] towering over you.
*** Another dream sequence worthy mentioning is day 6's, ''if you took the pills.'' You have to quickly run around and undo all four chains. The text on the screen constantly tells you to turn back and not to do this and that papa was right. All while the screen grows [[RedIsViolent more and more red]].
** The girl's drawn interpretation of the outside world is surprisingly unsettling and makes for a good, creepy moment in the beginning.
** The entire scenario. Your father, the only person you know and can trust, tells you [[AfterTheEnd the world has already ended]]. He scavenges every day, trying to find food and resources for both of you. And this whole time, this man was tricking you, only getting you to believe the world was over so that he could drug and rape you.
** The bad ending, where you find out just how morally depraved that father is. Doubles with TearJerker.

** The bad ending, which really makes you feel terrible for the poor girl.
** The girl's reaction to her papa not coming home for the first time.
*** She sadly asks herself "why didn't papa come home today?" when he doesn't arrive.
*** Her journal for that day reads: "Today papa didn't come home. [[TheWoobie I was all alone and scared]]. I hope he comes back tomorrow. I hate when I'm alone." Complete with a drawing of her sad over her papa being missing.
** The idea of the poor girl never having an apple her whole life is so heartbreaking.
** The girl's diary entry after her father returns, overjoyed over his reappearance, is sad too, because [[spoiler: she doesn't realize how horrible he is]].

* TheWoobie: The poor girl. She's been trapped in a bunker her whole life, worrying about an apocalypse [[spoiler: that isn't even real]], while the whole time [[spoiler: her father is making this up to manipulate her and, disgustingly, rape her]].

''my eyes deceive'', stylized in AllLowercaseLetters, is a horror game released May 25, 2023 by nouhidev on itch.io.

You play as a young girl living AfterTheEnd in a shelter your father designed for you. The world outside is [[ApocalypseHow infected with a deadly disease]], and your papa lives out there, popping in from time to time to deliver supplies. He's very insistent on you taking your ''disease-preventative pills''.

! ''my eyes deceive'' provides examples of:

* AdaptationDisplacement: The VideoGame/{{Roblox}} remake became a great deal more popular than the actual game, so much so that the developer requested they took it down because it was drawing attention from the actual game.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: When watering the plants, the protagonist uses a fairly large amount of water (judging by the time taken to water them each time) daily. This would quickly drown the plant.
** Additionally, watering the plant wouldn't do much good in terms of getting it to survive, since it doesn't get any sunlight down in your bunker.
* ChildByRape: [[spoiler: In the [[DownerEnding bad ending]], you are [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil impregnated by the father]] [[DudeShesLikeInAComa while asleep]]]].
* CompleteMonster: The father. He gaslights and manipulates his daughter into believing that they're living AfterTheEnd to forcefully impregnate her. Judging by her dialogue and crude handwriting, she's incredibly young to boot.
* CrapsackWorld: The father says the world is infected with a deadly disease, with [[VoiceChangeling Voice Changelings]] running around and society completely gone.
* DreamSequence: You have a dream sequence each night that serves as a break from the mundanity of your day to day tasks and an interjection of creepiness.
* FeaturelessProtagonist: Neither the father or the girl are shown onscreen.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In the dream sequence for day 6, if you choose to take the pills, near the end of the loop, chains will cover the rooms. [[spoiler: This symbolizes how your father is controlling you in that room]]. If you choose not to take the pills, [[spoiler: you undo each of those chains, representing you breaking free of him]].
** FiveSecondForeshadowing: When it [[spoiler: [[TimeSkip Time Skips]] to day 147]], you're much more sluggish. This is because [[spoiler: you're farther along in your pregnancy]].
* GameWithinAGame: There's a pretty fun game on the girl's tablet where you have to evade enemies, the number of which correlate to the stage number you're on.
* JumpScare: Mostly averted, but there's a pretty good one in the DreamSequence for day 2. You go to pick up what you think is an apple off the ground to look up and see a giant EldritchAbomination standing over you. Though, [[AmbiguousSituation it is debatable if that's really a monster or a shadow from the]] OminousVisualGlitch.
* MindScrew: Some of the dream sequences can be this at times. They're cryptic puzzles on their own, and the visual effects certainly don't help clear things up.
* MultipleEndings:
** The GoldenEnding: [[spoiler: you escape from papa and the shelter into the outside world and see the sun for the first time]].
** The [[CruelTwistEnding bad ending]]: [[spoiler: you are impregnated by papa while sleeping]].
* MundaneHorror: You repeat the loop of drinking water, taking your pills, eating, and showering every day until [[spoiler: you either escape or are raped by papa]].
* MundaneMadeAwesome: The girl is overjoyed to have an apple from the surface. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], since papa says it's a scarce resource during the apocalypse.
* DarthWiki/NightmareFuel:
