When it comes to stories, I prefer entertaining, exciting, funny or just plain [[StuffBlowingUp explosive]]. In, terms of genres, though, I like fantasy and science fiction the most. Even if they're set in the StandardFantasySetting or StandardSciFiSetting, I still enjoy the shit out of those things.

''The Holy Grail War''.... Actually, you don't need me to write any more of this flavor text because you already know all about Fate, so I'll respect your intelligence and tell you what's unique rather than repeat the same-old, same-old.

This Grail War is styled like Apocrypha, with two teams of seven servants and their masters fighting for the grail. But this isn't the grail war you're used to in most other [=RPs=] where your magic wizard can cut apart half a neighborhood and just go home like nothing happens. '''No.''' This is '''Texas'''. The fictional city of Los Mancantos, located along the coast of Texas. You're going to have to worry about overly-nosey neighbors who just won't stop snooping around. Not after hearing those sounds and seeing those lights coming from your shed. Drug Cartels are everywhere, and they're not going to take too kindly to people tearing apart their warehouses during fights. Bad for business. Same with the ranchers, who won't take too kindly to hooligans messing with their herds. You get out of line, ''someone's'' going to notice.

As for the story, this takes place in a slightly alternate universe from the game. The first three Grail Wars happened, though we don't know many details about them, but ''something'' happened in the third one, seemingly destroying the grail. Until now, that is. Roughly seven decades after the third grail war, the Great Grail appeared in the last place anyone would expect: Los Mancantos, Texas. With the Southern Baptist Convention having jurisdiction over the area due to previous agreements with the other organizations around the world, they sent invitations around to garner favor, and now fourteen men and women, ranging from Baptist and Church officials to Mages, from around the world and down the street, are now engaged in the Great Grail War.

Now, if you want to talk videogames...

I really like [=RPG=]s, especially more free ones like Dragon Age, Oblivion, Planescape, and New Vegas, while I dislike most [=JRPGs=]. I like some shooters, like Half-Life, Deus Ex, Bioshock, and Crysis. It shouldn't surprise you that I am a PC gamer only. I also love Valve while having never bought or played a Blizzard game. So would you like to know my stances on various videogame controversies? It's mainly just me talking about sequels, or underrated games.

* I liked AlphaProtocol and thought it was a pretty good game. Sure, the combat was a bit easy and there ''were'' bugs, but I'd say it's basically Mass Effect 2 with the CIA.
* I think {{Bioshock 2}} is better than the first. Yes, the story was not as convincing or grand, but the gameplay itself was much more interesting, challenging, and all-around fun, and since this is a shooter... that's kind of a big deal.
* DeusExInvisibleWar wasn't "bad", it's just that it was trying to follow up DeusEx, one of, if not ''the'', greatest game of all time, so people were understandably disappointed by it simply being an average game.
* DragonAgeOrigins and its expansion pack are easily my favorite [=RPG=]s since KnightsOfTheOldRepublic and TheElderScrollsIVOblivion, so those of you who dislike it can suck it.
** {{Dragon Age 2}} felt less fun than the first. I wouldn't call it bad, as it's still above average, it's just that I was expecting the game to be extraordinary like the first. The combat interface was basically the same as the first, but it occasionally felt more fun when you met groups that you could steamroll due to the new actionized gameplay. However, the story in an RPG like this is a bit important, so just walking around looking for cash felt a bit strange. You would also think there's more than one cave. As for the graphics, while the game loads in 5 seconds compared to the first's ''fifty'', some people (Zevran) looked as if they stuck their face in a hornet's nest.
*** And really, what was with the companion armor? I can't tell you how many robes of badassitude my Rogue found, only to not be able to have anyone equip it.
*** The dialogue wheel also felt odd, because you never really knew for sure what some responses would be, even with the good/bad/[=LOL=] personality types.
* {{Mass Effect 2}} was also less fun than the first. It seemed like the whole story was "Shepard babysits a bunch of specialists and gets their personal lives in order, and he might have to save the universe or something along the way."
** Also, this isn't a negative, just an observation: Am I the only one who noticed that Bioware had some sort of paradigm shift with the language? I still remember being surprised when MassEffect didn't even let Udina say "bullshit" and cut his curse short, which surprised me when the sequel has everyone getting told to fuck off.
* {{Team Fortress 2}}'s constant updates: Look, I understand you might not like the ton of hats or think a weapon is unbalanced, but these are updates, dammit, and I like having new things in my 4-year-old game, so don't ruin it for the rest of us by bitching about it to Valve.
** Pyro is not overpowered. Far from it, as out in the open he can be killed by almost every class before he can even touch his opponent with his flamethrower. Where he ''is'' good is at ambushing, so don't complain about balance issues just because you don't look around corners.
