Just some guy who edits Wiki/TVTropes... occasionally. I used to be more active, but the site suffering from Website/{{Youtube}} Update Syndrome has diminished my desire to trope. Though I still edit every once in a while.

Just some guy who edits Wiki/TVTropes. Though I do add examples sometimes, I'm primarily a cleanup-type editor who focuses on fixing Administrivia/{{Example Indentation|InTropeLists}}, commenting out Administrivia/{{Zero Context Example}}s, correcting spelling/grammar/formatting errors, removing instances of SquarePegRoundTrope, etc. Not much else to say here, really.

Or maybe there is more to say, but I just don't feel like saying it.

[[folder:Troper habits that annoy me]]
As previously stated, I specialize in mistake-fixing. However, there are a few particular kinds of mistakes that really draw me toward the "Edit Page" button whenever I see them. Really, I made this list just because I felt like it - people who are actually looking to improve their wiki contributions will be reading {{Administrivia}} articles, not some random troper's contributor page, but whatever.

* '''Tropes listed as sub-bullets under other tropes:''' A form of bad Administrivia/{{Example Indentation|InTropeLists}}. VideoGameSettings in particular get this annoyingly often. It's especially bad when the sub-bulleted trope isn't even a SubTrope; the editor is just trying to establish some vague connection between the two trope entries by clumsily latching them together like some kind of ugly parasite while giving alphabetical order the middle finger in the process.
* '''Trope slashing:''' The act of "combining" two tropes into one entry by slashing them together. It screws with the alphabetizing, causes duplicates to pop up, and it's just an eyesore in general.
* '''Shoehorned YMMV cruft:''' For whatever reason, some tropers apparently think that stuff they think is [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome awesome]], SugarWiki/{{heartwarming|Moments}}, [[TearJerker tear-jerking]], [[WhatAnIdiot stupid]], [[ThatOneIndex frustrating]], etc. is relevant enough to include in their objective trope examples, and will Administrivia/{{sinkhole}} them accordingly. Sometimes they don't even use sinkholes; they just outright add mini-reviews to their examples despite the fact that they add nothing of value to them.
* '''Pointless aversions:''' Simply put, an AvertedTrope that just isn't notable. The point of an examples list is to ''list examples''. "Aversions" are just clutter. Averted tropes are only notable when a trope is so omnipresent within a genre or series that one would expect its presence by default.
* '''CharacterizationTags:''' Doesn't really count as a "mistake;" they just suck in general.
* '''See [X]:''' I see this too much. Telling the reader what essentially amounts to "in order to understand this trope entry, you have to go read some other trope entry" is bad example writing. It treats the reader like a fuckin' dog: "Go fetch the example context!" Even when there is actual context in the example, it just highlights how useless the "see [X]" WordCruft is. The sub-variants that include the word "above" or "below" are even worse, since this is a wiki and content can be moved or removed at any given time for numerous reasons.
* '''SquarePegRoundTrope:''' A few variants in particular annoy me more than others.
** Shoehorned {{fanservice}}[=/=]attractiveness tropes. Using [[MrFanservice Mr.]][=/=]MsFanservice just to describe why a guy/girl is hot, using BuxomIsBetter to point out that a woman has big tits, etc.
** "Examples" saying that a work/character [[Administrivia/ExamplesAreNotArguable could sort of arguably kind of MAYBE qualify, but YMMV]]. Similarly, examples that claim that a character "has their moments." No, they don't. They're either an example or not an example.
** Confusing SceneryPorn with SugarWiki/AwesomeArt. 99.9% of SceneryPorn examples I see are "OMFG THIS MOVIE/SHOW/GAME IS SO GORGEOUS!!!!111!!11one"
** {{Narm}} misuse. No, Narm does not mean "anything in a work I find stupid/lame." It means "unintentionally funny dramatic moment."
!!Last, but definitely not least:
* '''Unpunctuated sentences:''' This is something I see WAY more often than I should, and something that I will never, ever, in [[WesternAnimation/DuckDodgers six wazillion]] years, understand. According to TroperDemographics, roughly 86% of tropers are 18 or older. With that in mind, what possible justification could these editors have for making a mistake that a kindergarten kid could point out and is easily avoided by simply pressing one or two extra keys on your keyboard? You're editing a wiki, not sending a text message. So whenever I see an example like this, I end up clicking "Edit Page" and scrolling down to the example just to add a period. This should not even be a thing. There's no excuse for it. Absolutely none.
