He loves books, particularly Stephan King, and was an avid reader for years... until the incident.
T'was a muggy afternoon in the suburbs of Charleston, South Carolina in the year of 2013, and a boy, at the cusp of manhood, was sitting inside, attempting to escape the heat.
While perusing through an old magazine intended for young children, he reminisced upon his childhood. To believe that at one pointUpon seeing an image advertising a small backpack with a lovable sponge on it, the boy lackadaisicaly decides to return to his old haunt; namely, the television. He didn't have not hope for it however, and he certainly did not expect it to change his his young life for good.
To be brutally honest, this boy had become a bit of an elitist videogame player, being that his only competition was his younger brother, and had actually come to look down upon those who were less skilled than he was. But it was more than that, he began to pity them; to wish that everyone could love videogames as he did, and practice to the extent that he had. It wouldn't until nearly two years have passed that the boy would learn how wrong he was. However, that's another story altogether.
Nevertheless, the boy proceeded to look up the older shows and view them through perfectly legal means. As he examined shows such as Spongebob, Camp Lazlo, and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, he came to relize that he simply had a much lower bar back then. That was until he reach Avatar, The Last Airbender.
Amazingly, this series inspired an impossibly strong love for television, a feeling he hadn't felt since the first time he watched Spongebob. After about a week, the boy was anxious to find something new, something to fill the gap that the conclusion of The Avatar left behind. Indeed, he began to watch newer cartoons, things he previously considered silly, like Regular Show and Adventure Time. Again, these shows gave rise to a feeling of being euphoria inside the boy's heart. Yet... it wasn't the same. Like a first kiss, all the rest were compared to the first; none could compete.
On the lookout for something new and interesting to watch, the boy gradually weaned back off of television, perhaps to never truly enjoy it again if it weren't for one specific site... TVTropes. Interestingly, it was only because of an accidental search of time travel on Google. (Though, I still cannot remember what the intended search was.) Suffice to say that this was not the intention of the boy when he wandered on to this sight this site.
