* CrazyPrepared: Despite what I may do have said about the a current concept for a Star Wars franchise, story and I have talked about thought in the past of writing as a script just in case I ever get an offer to write an episode. Let's just say a StarWars film, though my take current concept would try to remain consistent with the canon of the films whilst simultaneously providing some very dark AlternateCharacterInterpretation and a very Lovecraftian spin on the franchise is a little bit different...whole Saga.

* MST3KMantra: I try to avert this wherever possible. In fact, I feel that having to invoke this is actually a sign of bad writing. While I don't deny that most fiction will require a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, I also know that part of the goal is to immerse your audience and make them believe it. You don't have to be absolutely realistic, but if your story is so ridiculously unbelievable that the only way you can make people accept what you've written is telling them "it's fiction, get over it", then something is seriously wrong.

Some of my ideas for Dino Attack RPG have since been recycled into short stories.

Hello there. These days I normally go by my own name of John Hitchcock. I'm a writer of sorts and I've written a number of things including my fanfic based off of TheThing FanFic/UnfinishedBusiness. I also provided some contributions toward Roleplay/DinoAttackRPG under the name of [[KnightsOfTheOldRepublic Atton Rand]]. But don't let that user name fool you, I'm not a fan of StarWars. Far from it. Okay... well, I used to be, then I saw TwoThousandAndOneASpaceOdyssey and, well, let's just say it made a bit of a difference in my outlook on science fiction. I have called it many things, most recently enlightenment- and I suppose on some level it is. I have argued that StarWars failed logic on so many levels, and I still stand by anything I've said regarding the absurd scientific accuracies and plot holes, but it might be just that I'm a bit scared of becoming the person I used to be- a lonely Star Wars-obsessed nerd playing Star Wars video games and being mocked mercilessly by everyone around me.

I am into literature to a certain extent. I do have a particular fondness for the works of Creator/HPLovecraft- find writer of the epic CosmicHorrorStory genre. I've even written a few mythos stories of my own, and perhaps some day when I finally get them published they'll have pages here too.

* DarkerAndEdgier: My work in Roleplay/DinoAttackRPG was certainly much darker than LEGO originally intended, given I brought in explicit sex, violence, religion, gore, homophobia, sexism, and child abuse among other things.
* OldShame: Can be applied to some of my older work. For instance I once wrote a [[http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=235153 Star Wars fanfic]]. Granted I was a lot younger and didn't know as much- but even discounting my current views on ''Star Wars'' it's still pretty silly with hindsight. When it's not just jedi porn (seriously, there's a rediculously large number of female jedi in there) there's two-dimensional characters, a nonsensical story, contrived plot devices, a guy introduced soley so I could kill him off eventually, and the most painfully unsubtle villain ever concieved (Darth Satan, really? Yes, that is actually his name)

* FollowTheLeader: Averted quite often. If anything some of my published work is actually trying to go ''against'' common ideas. For instance FanFic/UnfinishedBusiness was distinctly an attempt to break from the standard bleak tone of many of the other fan-made "sequels" to Film/TheThing1982 and to try something different.

Yes, that is actually his name)

Author of FanFic/UnfinishedBusiness and a participant of the long-running Roleplay/DinoAttackRPG under the name of ''Atton Rand''. Ironically, he makes it very clear that he is ''not'' a StarWars fan.
