* SerendipityWritesThePlot: Creators Jens Andersson and Mattias Snygg initially set out to make a game in one year without a dedicated animator. Hence, they decided to "make a game about a ball" because that would be easy to animate. While the scope and timeframe for the game's development expanded quite a bit from that initial idea, they continued to retain the focus on the ball, resulting in a {{Metroidvania}} controlled like a {{pinball}} game.
