* ActingForTwo: Aside from voicing Ragna the Bloodedge in [[VideoGame/BlazBlue the main series]], Creator/TomokazuSugita voices both Sechs and [[spoiler: his {{Doppelganger}} inside his crystal]].

* RefittedForSequel: The main games originally were gonna have Tsubaki Yayoi, one of series tritagonist Noel Vermillion's HeterosexualLifePartners, as a LipstickLesbian with a thing for [[IncompatibleOrientation her straight best friend]]. Here, that very idea was brought in with Elise, and her unrequited love for Kuon.
* TalkingToHimself: The only character [[spoiler: Sechs’s mysterious double]] talks to is Sechs, both voiced by Creator/TomokazuSugita.

The game will either give some form of error message or simply cut the name short, depending on the input.
** Konoe: "After checking the database, you cannot use the inputted name. Sorry."
** Nine: "It isn't quite time yet..."
** Phantom: the name changes to Phant
* SignificantDoubleCasting: Watashi is voiced by Creator/AyumiFujimura and Imouto is voiced by Creator/IoriNomizu, the voice actresses of Nine and Celica respectively. Unsurprisingly, they are voicing younger versions of those characters.
** Chie Matsuura voices Ringo Akagi and Inori Minase voices Mei Amanohokosaka. The two characters are related to another 2 characters in BlazBlue that they also voiced: Kokonoe for the former [[spoiler:because Ringo is also a Mercury]] and Homura for the latter [[spoiler: because Homura is also an Amanohokosaka]].
** Yukitoshi Kikuchi voices both Touya and [[spoiler: child Sechs]]. This highlights how similar the two are and cements them as each other's {{Foil}}.
