* WhatCouldHaveBeen: According to Cullen Bunn and Dennis Hopeless, this relaunch was almost completely different from what the fans got. Firstly, the cast of All-New X-Men would’ve been the new Generation X lineup. Then, Bunn attempted to keep Uncanny X-Men and Extraordinary X-Men going, but with Hopeless writing instead of Lemire. However, Marvel was stuck on using colors for the names, so they also pitched a third book titled X-Men Gold and Blue (after the school colors) which would have featured everyone at the school. It was turned down due to Hopeless being unable to handle the double shipping schedule that Marvel wanted and because Marvel decided that it would b best to get a new writer in (Marc Guggenheim).
