* BillingDisplacement: The movie wasn't billed as a trio of Creator/WesleySnipes, Creator/WoodyHarrelson, and Music/JenniferLopez until after the nineties. Original billing: Creator/WesleySnipes, Creator/WoodyHarrelson. It wasn't until Lopez became famous from later films and music when she appeared on the cover of the DVD next to Snipes and Harrelson.

* TechnologyMarchesOn: New York retired their money trains in 2006 as most modern subway riders use debit-like [=MetroCards=] and very little cash exchanges hands anymore.

* LifeImitatesArt: Shortly after the film released, news outlets tried to connect it to an incident where a man used a siphon to squirt kerosene into a New York Subway ticket booth and set it ablaze, similar to what a villain does in the film.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Between some of the clothes, the lack of cell phones, the absence of the Metro Card system (which was already being put into several lines of the Subway System as a test run when this movie came out) the fact that people are using cash for everything instead of credit/debit cards, the rate of crime in NYC, etc., etc., it's pretty clear to someone watching today that the film couldn't possibly take place any later than the early to mid 90s.
