** The Park Manager's Collection Pack might as well be called the Fan Favorite Pack, as it brings in three extremely-requested animals: the ''Megalodon'', the ''Microceratus'', and the ''Segisaurus''. While the fourth animal was the very-recently-described ''Thanadosdrakon'', the fact it is an azhdarchid that closely resembles ''Hatzeghopteryx'' and is at its real-life size quickly made it a fan favorite.

** Dinosaur behavior is much more complex and natural, ranging from herbivores now feeding on vegetation (and not needing to rely on feeders), socializing (the first game's socializing amounted to a group of animals standing in a circle vocalizing to each otheR), hunting (not only is pack hunting implemented, but a hunt is no longer a guaranteed success), and the addition of a territory system.

** Marine reptiles and pterosaurs are added as fully functioning animals after only ''Pteranodon'' made it into the first game as animals on a loop. This is particularly noteworthy given the ''Mosasaurus'' was teased in the first game's announcement trailer only to never appear. Pliosaurs like ''Liopleurodon'' were also added specifically to ensure biodiversity concerns from fans.
** A lot of issues have been ironed out as the game has gone on, particularly improved Sandbox features such as the ability to disable the need for scientists, the addition of instant construction/destruction, the return of disabling combat frequency, and the addition of the Campaign maps to playable levels.

** A more minor example, but the Secret Species Pack gave the ''Ankylodocus'' a much appreciated redesign that made the ''Ankylosaurus'' portion of its ancestry more obvious.

** The update with the Cretaceous Predator Pack finally brought in a feature fans have been waiting for since the first game: an option for automatic hatcheries that will make and keep animals at a specified population level, which means ''Evolution 2'' now has the much-desired Site B option from ''Operation Genesis''.

Several theropod species that are not pack hunters were given a "pack chase" behavior where when one dinosaur begins a hunt two others will join in, competing to be the first to catch the prey (the one that instigates the hunt will always catch it, though).

* ScienceMarchesOn: ''Amargasaurus'' is depicted with bare spines instead of sails, which was believed to have been correct at the time of the game's release. But then came March 2022, when a new study proposed that ''Amargasaurus'' and its relatives did have sails after all.

** Dunkleosteus was subject to this while the Marine Species Pack that it was included in was being produced. Shortly before release Dunkleosteus had its size estimates cut enormously from roughly the size of a great white shark to the size of a large tuna. An unfortunate fate for what turned out to be one of the most scientifically rigorous depictions of the old dunk ever produced.

** Several park mechanics have been added to address spacing and financial concerns; the abilities to airlift newly hatched dinosaurs and breed batches of animals in one slot means a player doesn't need to spend as much space or money on hatches; customization of park buildings has been expanded to address complaints of uniformity;

* AuthorsSavingThrow: One of the primary selling points of the game was addressing complaints regarding the first game, and many improvements have been made to address new complaints made during this game's lifetime.
** The introduction of new biomes after players criticized the tropical Five Deaths being the only setting for maps in the first game. Maps also are no longer segmented into smaller zones, or have gigantic obtrusions in the middle of them (players particularly criticized the Isla Sorna campaign map due to it being the largest map but suffering from a gigantic mountain in the middle).
