** In 2019, Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} announced the production of a new animated series based on ''ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}'' and ''ComicStrip/USAcres'', the comic strips which were the basis for this show. However, the voice of Wade Duck, Howard Morris, died of congestive heart failure in 2005, and Kevin Meaney, voice of Aloysius Pig, had a fatal heart attack in 2016. It is unknown how the show will deal with their voice actors' deaths.

** In the past, Nickelodeon adored the show more than ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' when it was on Nick in the Afternoon by airing it back to back for an hour. It was justified, as Nick's airings of the show were one of the highest-rated shows among kids, with ratings on par with ''Franchise/PowerRangers''.

9 Story still owns distribution rights to the series so this won't happen anytime soon.

** Now that Viacom (which bought the whole of Paws, Inc. in 2019) has taken over distribution of the show from 9 Story Media (who commissioned the "remaster" to begin with), hopefully this version will be removed and the 4:3 SD originals reinstated.

** The show got worse treatment when it returned to Creator/{{Boomerang}} in 2019. Originally at an already bad time slot at 12PM on weekdays with no repeats, it was pulled to a time slot at ''4AM'', a time where ''no one'' is going to even be awake. Granted, ''Garfield and Friends'' is a pretty old show and has already aired on Boomerang years ago, but considering it airs on the same channel as ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs'', ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' (which has ran on Boomerang since the channel launched), and ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'', all of which have been reran into the ground by the network (especially the latter two, though ''The Smurfs'' got this in the network's early days), it's still pretty disappointing. At least the episodes are on the app...

Complete misuse. All the "Fake (insert nationality)" tropes apply to cases where an actor plays a character whose nationality they are not. It has nothing to do with whether the character speaking their native tongue is accurate or not.

* FakeRussian: Averted in "Swine Trek." In Orson's ''Star Trek''-based dream where he's TheKirk of his barn-shaped starship, Booker, as Chekov's counterpart, is dressed like the stereotypical Russian Cossack, complete with beard. Frank Welker, Booker's VA, speaks in a believable Russian accent, with a commenter on the clip using Google Translate to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBBWVUzG0Ec put in the comments the Cyrillic Russian for Booker's line at 3:58.]] Booker speaks Russian again at 4:43, and Roy at both times must ask for translations. ** Why did [[SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute Penelope]] replace Arlene on the show? Well, according to Evanier (as noted on the show's official page on Creator/{{Wikipedia}}), Davis was very specific about how he wanted Arlene to act, and felt that, if the show couldn't do her character justice, then they may as well not use her at all. Hence, Penelope was created as a replacement.
