* DuelingWorks: A rare example of works that are ''far apart'' in time (technically averting this trope) but which still qualify: ''Literature/FinalGirls'' and Creator/GradyHendrix's ''Literature/TheFinalGirlSupportGroup''. Saget's novel was published first, in 2017, while Hendrix's wasn't published until 2021. Both are deconstructions of the StockSlasher that feature multiple women who survive the events of a SlasherMovie in the real world that see them getting pulled into violent events in the present, narrowly surviving, and ending the novel by trying to help someone else in the same position. Hendrix completed the first draft of his novel in 2018, but it was placed in DevelopmentHell as his agents felt it was too similar to ''Literature/FinalGirls'' to be sellable. It wasn't until they took it out on sub in 2020 that it actually sold.
