*CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: As of this writing, the plot summary on the game’s Wikipedia page has erroneously stated for some time that the plot twist reveals Marcellus Faust to be the Devil, but this is not the case as the game makes it quite clear he’s actually [[spoiler: a formerly human guardian angel who was BroughtDownToNormal once again.]]
*ExecutiveMeddling: According to the game’s main director and writer, Stephen Carrière, the title was once ‘’Faust: A Game of Souls’’, but the marketers didn’t think it sounded punchy enough, so it was changed to ‘’Faust: The Seven Games of the Soul’’, but the original title can still be seen on the loading screen at the start.
*WhatCouldHaveBeen: Before the game even released, [[https://web.archive.org/web/20010609180301/http://www.gamesdomain.com/gdreview/depart/feb99/ringint.html Arxel Tribe were hoping]] to turn ‘’Faust’’ into a trilogy consisting of 21 “episodes” total, hence the SequelHook at the very end, but that never happened.
*WordOfGod: In 2001, Stephen Carrière appeared on a [[https://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/93319/Re:_Final_Thoughts_on_Seven_Ga Game Boomers forum thread]] to either deny or support various fan theories, clarify a few plot points and character motivations, and mention a few behind the scenes facts.
