* OlderThanTheyThink: The green element being jungle instead of air was something that could be seen in the last years of Bionicle's first generation, with the green tribe on Spherus Magna being the Jungle Tribe, and the Elemental Lord of Jungle, though Mata Nui would still grant Gresh and Vastus, members of this tribe, with the elemental powers of Air.

CCBS sets were released well into 2018

* GenreKiller: The reboot was intended to recreate the success of the original ''BIONICLE'' line and early years of ''Toys/HeroFactory'' using the latter's Character and Creature Building System. The reboot's failure ended up being the final nail in the coffin for CCBS, and LEGO has not made sets utilizing it since then.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The line was intended to run for three years, each year releasing one of the three legendary Masks of Power. Due to the line's underperformance, the second year became the final one, and the Mask of Ultimate Power was unreleased, but made it far enough into development for its prototype to be used in pictures of the Makuta model that could be built with existing sets to make up for the story not continuing far enough to give him a proper set.
** The Mask of Control was [[https://biosector01.com/w/images/bs01/f/ff/Prototype_mask_of_control.png originally designed]] with an indent on the top of the scalp, and the tusks were larger and curved inward compared to the rounder ones that faced forward on the final piece. The Mask of Control seen in the online animations better reflects the prototype design than the actual set piece.
** Although Lewa and Gali are the only Toa whose masks do not resemble their Generation 1 Mata masks, [[https://biosector01.com/w/images/bs01/9/94/Concept_Art_Lewa_and_Gali_G2.jpg concept art shows]] the designs did at one point better reflect the characters' original looks.
