** Starting in [[http://archipelagoexodus.proboards.com/post/74681/thread (Dis)Orientation]], Emily's picked up the use of Nopcsa's FanNickname "Nopnop".

* AscendedFanon: Helen Mercury's almost always been depicted with a feather in her hat. However, this actually never arose from any official illustrations... Instead, it came from Lee making a Soul Calibur custom character where a feathered tophat was the only option. Kevin used this as a reference for an illustration, and it quickly spread to the rest of the site.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Since [=RPs=] tend to take longer than intended and have other authors take the threads in unanticipated directions, MANY plots evolve in ways that nobody had foreseen.

to:

* CreatorKiller: An altercation between two authors led Prime to leave ''The God of the Sea'' in a huff for a stretch of time. The essential debate was about if a sword forged for cutting down deities (Zebedee's Maranatha) could make a papercut on Primus, the God of Blades.
* FranchiseZombie: Years after ''Funeral Pyre for a Fuzzball'' was abandoned, Lee took over and turned it into a plot for beginning [=RPers=].

** AscendedFanon: A comment in the 2010 popularity poll suggested Marius might be gay based on Valon's description of him as "easily flustered around my male friends". DL rolled with it.

** Likewise, Nopcsa never appeared on screen wearing a cravat before Obscured Truth, tending to prefer a hooded cloak. However, Pohatu drew him wearing one, and it became his default wear for any non-action topics since.

** The well-loved RP Fallfish actually had been plotted to be twice its current length, with a journey to Celadon City to face a thief plotted for the second leg of the journey. However, due to writers Misty And Vaporeon and DJKates vanishing before their roles appeared on screen, Lee pared it down to a much tighter plot.

** The Radiance arc was originally planned to be much DarkerAndEdgier, and was going to have Hector raped by an agent of one of the villains, giving him additional emotional drama to overcome then. Since then, his author decided that dark didn't necessarily make a better plot, and slid Radiance farther towards Idealism on the SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism.

** Chief among these is Zebedee Taylor, who, due to certain [[HeroicSacrifice foibles of his character type]] has been slated to be killed off on over half a dozen occasions. Each time, he's been spared, either via the RP dying before the time comes, or the plot moving in another direction. The latest incidence is a hinting he won't make it out of Light and Darkness Collide, but Lee has yet to commit to that angle for sure.

**Ishkabibble had a gigapause due to various authorial issues and some people assuming it was a dead RP. During this hold-up, Pohatu took a step back, and revised the RP to be much more centered on tense negotiations and interpersonal drama, and less towards the dozens of meaningless fight scenes that had cluttered it before.

* WordOfGay: A 2015 [[http://archipelagoexodus.proboards.com/thread/3537/census census]] revealed that quite a few more characters are non-heterosexual than has necessarily been demonstrated in-story so far. Helen, Achenes, Maude, Kendil, Renard, Landsvale, Nico, Tanner, Flo, Shouta, Kilik, Antonio, Melanie, Evelyn, Jamal, Araini, Marius, Nessa, Habiba, Waylon, Goodman, Mickey, Faris, and Rhys have all been suggested to be definitely or potentially gay/lesbian, bisexual, asexual, or otherwise sexual minorities, which mostly hasn't been indicated in-story yet. There's plenty of time for any of these to be canonically confirmed, though.
