* The DX final match in 2010. They lose when Shawn gets distracted by Undertaker and pinned by Miz as a result. Upset, he sits in the ring as Hunter looks at him. * On March 25th, 2022, on an ESPN interview, Triple H [[EndOfAnEra announced his official retirement]] from in ring competition. The deciding factor was a heart failure he suffered and the fact that it was nose diving from bad to worse fast, the fear quickly set in when Triple H began thinking of his young daughters and the possibility of not waking up from his surgery. When recounting that thought, he begins to choke up and tries his hardest to fight it. A legendary career has come to an end.

** There's also his HOF Induction speech where he praises Chyna's contributions and even notes that he nor DX would have made it where they did if not for her. During said sppech, he seems to have a case of SorrowfulStutter, as he pauses for a moment & closes his eyes before continuing, as if he was starting to get choked up.

* Wrestling/{{Chyna}}'s death. Despite their relationship since the break-up, Hunter and Chyna had still been together for close to four years. If there was anyone Hunter did love other than Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon, it was Chyna. No matter what you think about Hunter, there is no doubt he must have taken her death ''hard'', especially since they only got to start mending fences after they met during Wrestling/RoddyPiper's funeral. Those who recorded and/or watched a house show match of his in Paris just two days after the news broke remarked that he looked absolutely haggard in the match. The only thing he can do from his side after this is to work together with Steph and family to fulfill what Chyna couldn't get in life: A place in the Hall of Fame, after years of her being prohibited from it.
** His behavior during the DX, 2019 Hall of Fame induction can also qualify. Many who watched the ceremony note how Triple H seems to avert his eyes when Chyna's picture is shown on the overhead monitor. ** There was still one nugget of [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming heartwarming]] to come out of the incident, though. When HHH was left standing by himelf in the ring after everyone abandoned him, he still wasn't ''entirely'' alone- the crowd was still with him, cheering him and even chanting "TRIPLE H! TRIPLE H! TRIPLE H!" Even ''Jim Ross'' was collectively booed as he walked out. Hunter was visibly moved by the support.
