Then after his old boss died, he was replaced with a new guy who didn't try to understand him and immediately sent death squad after death squad to eliminate him because he knew too much. Gabe was even betrayed by one GI soldier who pretended to be helpful only to reveal that he was a snake in the grass. For the last gut punch, Gabe was later also betrayed by Elsa Weissinger in ''Omega Strain'', especially hurtful when it is known Gabe was the only one who was willing to look past her old crimes and give Weissinger a second chance. It is a wonder how Gabe did not snap and turn into a war criminal for real after those damage to his psyche.
