* The fact that the story ''justifiably'' points out that '''ALL''' the "evil" ninja are merely products of a broken system that produces broken people regardless of where they are from. It further points out that people like the 3rd Hokage, who could actually make the world better, delude themselves into believing their version of said system works so nothing ever changes. It's little wonder people like Kisame, Ryuishi and Orochimaru end up being bitter, apathetic, and violent when they are trained to be killers from childhood.
