* The scene where [[DiedInYourArmsTonight Klonoa's grandfather dies in his arms]] after beating the fourth boss was very heartwrenching. In the [=PS1=] version, after Klonoa defeats Baladium, the former is seen running back to Grandpa's house while [[SayMyName yelling his name in anguish]] before the cutscene starts.
* After defeating Nahatomb after rescuing Lephise, everybody is proud and happy to see Lephise alive. While Klonoa is also glad to save Lephise, he's sad and afraid of losing Huepow after using him as the final blow to Nahatomb. He even yells in fear of Huepow's promise not happening... until Klonoa notices Huepow alive.
* The ending of ''[[VideoGame/KlonoaDoorToPhantomile Door to Phantomile]]'' and its remake can manage to tear one up every single time.
** Just to clarify why: Klonoa discovers [[TomatoInTheMirror the world he lived in was a fake.]] He belongs in a different Phantomile which he will be forced to go back to once Lephise sings her song. Other than the fact that he has no choice in the matter, he ultimately has to say goodbye to Huepow, his childhood friend--FakeMemories or not--and the scene they display is just heartbreaking. A portal appears and starts to pull Klonoa in, and after struggling with his emotions, Huepow tries to keep Klonoa from getting sucked in, because he can't bear to be apart from his close friend. Unfortunately, the portal is too strong. Unlike other partings, there's no [[ReunionVow "We'll see each other again"]] or even a [[AlwaysWithYou "We'll always be together"]], all they do is [[SayMyName shout their names in anguish!]]
*** The Wii and ''Phantasy Reverie'' remake was able to make this ending even ''less'' optimistic. The [=PS1=] version shows Huepow smiling after Klonoa is sucked into the portal, signifying either that he knows that Klonoa will be alright or that they'll meet again someday[[note]]Indeed, they ''do'' meet again in ''Empire of Dreams'' and ''Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol''[[/note]]. In the remake, there's no optimism in Hewpoe's face; he just sobs and looks into the distance as the screen fades to black. [[WordOfGod According to a behind the scenes online post by Hideo Yoshizawa]], storyboards for the ending of the original [=PS1=] version never showed Huepow smiling, but some of the developers decided to make him smile, making the Wii and ''Phantasy Reverie'' remake more faithful to the original idea.
