* In book 25 the Animorphs end up stuck up near the North Pole. At one the end of one chapter Marco (the narrator) says that even though he's been sent to alien planets and back to the time of the dinosaurs, he's never felt so far from home.home.
* Considering how much changes in #45 The Revelation this isn't surprising. Having faked his and his father's death Marco, in the last time he's in his home, realises just how much his civilian life is over and decides not to take a last reminder, preferring to stick with memories
** In the same book how he treats Nora, his step-mother. Marco prevents his father from trying to rescue her, observing after the assassination attempt on him and his father that she's now infested. In the epilogue with his mother rescued and reunited with them he lies to her father that Nora was probably a controller the whole time and only with him because of his work (a lie which eats him up inside). For a character who never did anything wrong, for Marco to break the relationship and leave her a victim of the Yeerks is tragic.
