* After Gargamel feeds Hackus, he waits for a "thank you" but gets a burp instead to which he accepts. Now [[WesternAnimation/{{Shrek}} who]] said burping was a compliment? ([[AccidentallyAccurate It actually IS in some cultures]].)

* "Smurfphony In 'C'": In the Creator/HannaBarbera [[WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs animated version]], the smurfphony melody is based on a gavotte by [[Creator/LudwigVanBeethoven Beethoven]].

* "Can't Smurf The Music" = "Can't stop the Music", a 1980 song by [[Music/VillagePeople The Village People]] and the name of [[Music/VillagePeople The Village People]]'s musical comedy feature film coming out the same year that's a pseudo-biography which only bears a vague resemblance to the actual story of the group's formation.

* "Bewitched, Bothered And Be-Smurfed" = could be based on show tune and popular song "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered," from Rodgers and Hart's 1940 musical ''Pal Joey''.

* In "The Littlest Witch", Papa sends Hefty, Smurfette, Painter and Scaredy to gather [[WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes witch]] [[WesternAnimation/ClassicDisneyShorts hazel]], name of two different character voiced by JuneForay who happens to voice [[ActorAllusion Jokey]].

"Jack O'Lantern" derives from an old folklore told in different variations across Western Europe from the mid-19th century similar to the story of [[GhostLights Will-o'-the-wisp]] where lazy yet shrew Farmy Stingy Jack who used a cross to trap {{Satan}}.

** "The Smurfic Games," which was the title of a special that appeared in season three of the HannaBarbera cartoon series, was the English title of a collection of sports-related one-page gags.

* A drop of pumpkin goop from Brainy's shoe falls in front of the prowling Azrael, alerting the cat to Gutsy, Smurfette and the bespectacled Smurf trapped in cages above him is similar to what happened to [[WesternAnimation/TheBatman Batman]] and Film/SpiderMan.\\
