* Sad-One and Glad-One's characteristics may remind some of [=GLaDOS=] and Wheatley from ''{{VideoGame/Portal}}'', while Sad-One strongly recalls Marvin the Paranoid Android from ''Radio/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy''.

* In episode four, Tulip mentions a movie that sounds like ''[[Film/Titanic1997 Titanic]]'' [[RecycledInSpace on the]] ''[[RecycledInSpace Hindenburg]]''. (As it turns out, [[AccidentallyCorrectWriting there is a movie in real life with that exact premise]].)

* At this scene from [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUgeSJhXNeQ The New Apex at 1:07-1:16]], it had a Franchise/{{Mortal Kombat}}-styled Fatality that would make Shang Tsung not only proud, but also say '''''YOUR SOUL IS MINE!!!!!''''', for obvious reasons.

* There are several references to ''WesternAnimation/{{Hilda}}'':
** During Tulip, One-One, and Atticus' search for the door in "The Corgi Car", there is one scene where they trek up a hill and it suddenly starts snowing. The camera then pans out to reveal that they are walking under a cloud that is snowing on them. This is a reference to a scene from the first episode of Hilda, in which the titular character appears to be walking up a snowy mountain but it then shows that she is walking under a weather spirit.
** In "The Cat's Car", there is a girl in the audience at [=DolphWorld=] with light blue hair and a beret, an apparent nod to the titular character's attire in Hilda.
** Younger Amelia bears a striking resemblance to Johanna, with a similar hairdo and turtleneck sweater.

* MT’s act on the fashion car has her put on a [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair turquoise colored wig]] with pigtails that has a suspicious resemblance to [[Music/{{Vocaloid}} Hatsune Miku]].

But out-of-universe it might be a reference to ''WesternAnimation/OverTheGardenWall'', especially the way the turtles are drawn in the final episode. Another out-of-universe possibility is it might be a reference to a common statement about the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regress_argument infinite regress argument]]; that "It's turtles all the way down."
* Assuming Owen isn't just being his TrollingCreator self, WordOfGod states that Mirror-Tulip [[https://twitter.com/OweeeeenDennis/status/1161328366869286913 named herself Gambit]] after a character from ''Franchise/XMen''. [[spoiler:[[TrollingCreator Turns out he was]]]].

* Frank the bear (appearing in ''[[Recap/InfinityTrainS3E4LeChatChaletCar Le Chat Chalet Car]]''), with his open robe, sunglasses at all times and general ''laissez faire'' demeanor has more than a passing resemblance to [[Film/TheBigLebowski The Dude]].
* [[spoiler: Simon's death]] (on ''[[Recap/InfinityTrainS3E10TheNewApex The New Apex]]'') looks like a combination of two character deaths from the ''[[Franchise/IndianaJones Indiana Jones']]'' franchise: Toht's face melting from ''[[Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk Raiders of the Lost Ark]]'' and Donovan's [[RapidAging rapid aging]] from ''[[Film/IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade The Last Crusade]]''.
