* EmotionEater : Lemuel was granted the ability to feed off of psychic energy by Manfred's Grandma. This allows him to feed without killing people. His scenes with Olivia suggests that he is able to feed off of negative emotions like anger or shame. This ability also gives him the ability to kill vampires with a touch. Though Lemuel has not killed a human in this way on screen, victims do take on a deathly pallor when he feeds and it leaves them physically drained. Lemuel is however, perfectly capable of feeding on human blood and seems to enjoy it. He does save his thirst for AssholeVictims however so he still does fit as FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire.

* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: Lemuel is this way because he can feed on energy rather than demons.

* TheAtoner: Lemuel regrets his past as a blood-drinking vampire. Somewhat of a zig-zagged trope as he doesn't so much feel the need to make amends as simply stop doing evil. He also has no objections to Olivia's profession. Reverend Sheehan is another example as he doesn't wish to harm anyone as a weretiger and locks himself up during full moons to protect the locals.

''Midnight, Texas'' is an American supernatural drama television series broadcast on NBC as a summer entry to the 2016–17 network television schedule. The series was commissioned on May 13, 2016. Midnight, Texas is based on the book series of the same name by author Creator/CharlaineHarris who also wrote ''Literature/TheSouthernVampireMysteries'', the novels which were adapted into the ''Series/TrueBlood'' television series. The series premiered on July 24, 2017.

Manfred Bernando is a Romani with PsychicPowers who is advised by his dead aunt to go to Midnight, Texas in order to escape his former clients. Midnight, Texas turns out to be a haven for various supernaturals who have decided to retreat from the world.

These include:

* Bobo Winthrop: The human proprietor of the Midnight Pawn.
* Fiji Cavanaugh: A quirky free spirit-spirited witch who own Midnight's magic store.
* Joe Strong: A fallen angel who has visions of the apocalypse coming to the town.
* Creek Lovell: A mortal waitress and later Manfred's girlfriend.
* Lemuel Bridger: A vampire who feeds on energy rather than blood.
* Olivia Charity: A freelance assassin who is lovers with Lemuel Bridger.
* Rev. Emilio Sheehan: A quiet weretiger who presides over the wedding chapel.

----

* {{Adorkable}}: Despite being gorgeous and possessing superpowers, Fiji turns to complete mush around Bobo.
* AffablyEvil: Olivia and Lemuel may or may not qualify as evil but they're cheerful right up until the point they murder you.
* DarkIsNotEvil: The premise for the series is the various monsters of Midnight, Texas are decent people who just want to be left alone. [[spoiler: Theyr'e also the soldiers for the side of good against the rising demon horde.]]
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: A number of multi-racial and interracial relationship Texas townsfolk (as well as a gay couple) are tormented by the local gang of Neo-Nazi bikers. The townsfolk are also harassed and abused by the nearby police. It's just said townsfolk also have superpowers.
* FunctionalMagic: Fiji possesses this and may be the most powerful of the townsfolk.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: Lemuel is this way because he can feed on energy rather than demons.
* HitmanWithAHeart: Olivia isn't a bad person at heart and prefers to kill "evil" targets with her one on-screen kill being a CorruptCorporateExecutive.
* LighterAndSofter: Is restricted to PG-13 sex and violence due to being on network TV, unlike ''Series/TrueBlood.'' The supernaturals are also, by and large, much nicer people than the ones on that show.
* MasterOfDisguise: Olivia is capable of impersonating a wide variety of looks. It's not an InformedAttribute either as she does well in changing her appearance during her hits.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: The chief villains harassing the town are a gang of Neo-Nazi bikers.
* PsychicPowers: Manfred possesses these. His grandmother and ancestors appear to have also had access to FunctionalMagic.
* QuirkyTown: Midnight is a town with a weird reputation even among the surrounding communities. It's {{Justified}} as most of the populace is supernatural.
