to:

* (introductory paragraph)
Young Michael Morlan was a kindly copyboy who first attempts to return a dime astro-scientist Barghelt dropped, then defended the scientist from a trio of hoodlums, Impressed by his integrity and well-defined discernment of good and evil, he treated and allies with in his atomic machine. Using the word "Kimota", he could transform into his alter ego Miracleman, a blonde, musclebound superhero, and he had many vibrant superhero adventures Years later, he has forgotten his magic word and much of his youth, but eventually he rediscovers his past and more. As it turned out, these classic adventures were part of a simulation [[GovernmentConspiracy by "the Spookshow"]], using alien technology and biology to create superhumans. His life would take a drastic turn; his sidekick Kid Miracleman's alter ego had become evil, the scientist/his "creator" Dr Emil Gargunza had his own schemes around him and his unborn child, and he would meet up with the aliens who's power was derived from. Miracleman would become a melancholic figure who reshaped the world into a utopia, a new age of enlightenment with the Miracleman family as gods of a new Olympus. However Miracleman would lose touch with humanity, ruling essentially as a BenevolentDictator.
** (out of The out-of universe information)history of Miracleman is complicated. Originally created by Mick Foley in 1954 following Fawcett Publications' cessation of their superhero titles, a replacement for Captain Marvel was made, changing his human identity from newsboy Billy Batson to copyboy Micky Moran. His superhero identity was Marvelman It ran 350 issues between 1954 to 1963. When Alan Moore decided to retool and rework the series in 1982, the character had to be renamed to Miracleman as while predating the title of Marvel Comics, Eclipse Comics (the company that owned it at the time) lacked the legal muscle to keep the name. Miracleman would eventually end up under Creator/MarvelComics, designed in its multiverse as Earth-82324

%%Rough first draft of the Infinity Gauntlet. My first question is what Overdeities do you think should be watching over each of the stones?

[[folder:Infinity Gauntlet and Gems]]
'''[[ComicBook/TheInfinityGauntlet The Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Gems]]''' (or Infinity Stones)
[[quoteright:802:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/infinity_gauntlet_29_from_new_avengers_vol_3_3_001.png]]

* Hall: Maximum Security
* Class Level: 1
* Alignment: TrueNeutral (dependent on who wears it)
* Portfolio: [[RealityWarper Lets You Bend Reality To Your Will]], [[SpaceMaster Including Total Mastery Of Space]] [[TimeMaster And Time]], DismantledMacGuffin, AmuletOfConcentratedAwesome, AmplifierArtifact
* Domains: Power, Gems, The Cosmos, Reality Warping, Functional Omnipotence
* The Creator/MarvelUniverse has many powerful artifacts, but few, if any surpass the Infinity Gems. Sometimes known as the Infinity Stones, they predate the universe and have been reported as either remains of a god that destroyed themselves out of loneliness, or six singularities present at the Big Bang. They embody six aspects of the universe and at full potential, allow one absolute control of that aspect of reality. To what extent depends on the continuity, but in ''ComicBook/TheInfinityGauntlet'', we see what happens when Thanos has all six in a specific gauntlet to wield their power, in order to impress Lady Death...omnipotence, barring a couple restrictions. Even [[CosmicEntity cosmic entities]] can be towed with it He only lost from a subconscious belief he didn't deserve that power. No-one has held onto that power permanently, and as it makes one a step or two below {{God}} this is probably a good thing.
* It is important to remember that Infinity Gems can only work in the universe they come from. Trying to use it in other universes is akin to trying to use your TV remote on somebody else's. The Infinity Gauntlet in the Trope Pantheon specifically works on the CrossoverAlternateUniverse which all the different gods interact, and only that reality. As such, while the Infinity Gauntlet is still ''immensely'' desirable, it cannot be used by any deity to take complete control of their own ''verse''. [[Pantheon/{{Leadership}} Darkseid]] has denoted the Infinity Gauntlet as useless for him [[ComicBook/JLAVsAvengers when he got his hand on it]], a fact that is undoubtedly a relief. As bad as Thanos was having the Infinity Gauntlet the man had insecurities and personal issues that made it possible he would lose control. Darkseid...doesn't, and he is not the kind of person [[VictoryIsBoring who would grow bored with victory]]. Attempt to modify the Gauntlet to work outside the Pantheon will incur the wrath of [[Pantheon/{{Wardening}} the Living Tribunal]].
** Darkseid being unimpressed by the Infinity Gauntlet has been furthered when [[WebAnimation/DeathBattle Thanos used it in a fight against him]], where while he could snap his avatar away when serious, his true form could just summon a new one. So Thanos decided to confront his true form...[[spoiler:and that was a really horrible move, as the Infinity Gauntlet was out of range in Darkseid's universe. [[ResurrectionDeathLoop Cue the Omega]] [[FateWorseThanDeath Sanction]]. Thanos really doesn't want to talk about it or how he got out of that one.]]
* The Living Tribunal is one of the only beings who can defy the Infinity Gauntlet when it is at full capacity. The same can be said of Doctor Doom [[ComicBook/SecretWars2015 when he had absorbed the power of Beyonders]]. He is the primary security in making sure the Infinity Gauntlet is only ever used when it's the only viable option. [[Pantheon/SourcesOfInformation The SCP Foundation]] has put a lot of measures into "containment"...well, not so much the Gems as they're relatively predictable when on their own, but as a way of keeping people out. While there are a number of variations of the Infinity Gauntlet and Gems, the Pantheon's Infinity Gauntlet [[TruerToTheText is an almost carbon copy of the 616 version]]. As such it lacks [[Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse needing a level of strength to not die wielding it]], making it all the more attractive a target. The six Infinity Gems are watched over certain Overdeities
** The Time Gem; currently being watched over by [[Pantheon/TimeTravelling Chronoa]]. Grants the user unlimited control of time. Whoever holds it can make the House of Pantheon/TimeAndTemporality whatever they want it to be. That said, it is unknown how the Time Gem alone would face off against Lord English on an equal playing field
** The Soul Gem; currently being watched over by TBA. Allows manipulation of any and all souls, be it dead or alive. One can use it to lord power over both the House of Pantheon/LifeAndVitality and the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem. They'd have the power to ''shut down'' the pantheon's DeathIsCheap rule, an idea that Dhuum is salivating over...though the same gem could set it back up again.
*** Technically all gems have also been known as the Soul Gems, though only one has domain over souls. Should be noted; they have no relation to what the Puella Magi have used, or [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim the Tamriel soul gems]].
** The Power Gem; currently being watched over by TBA. Allows complete control over all power in the universe.
** The Reality Gem; currently being watched over by TBA. Alters the laws of the universe to the users will. Seems to be a more general reality-bending purpose. [[Pantheon/PowerArchetypes Doctor Manhattan]] muses that his own abilities act similarly to the Reality Gem, as he is able to bend reality due to his innate understanding and connection to the underpinning rules of existence.
** The Space Gem; currently being watched over by TBA. Allowing for the manipulation of space. It's to the House of Pantheon/SpaceAndCosmos what the Time Stone is to the House of Time and Temporality.
** The Mind Gem; currently being watched over by TBA. Taps into the users mind for complete control of psychic powers including telekinesis.
* [[Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse In Earth-199999]], there are actually two gauntlets. There is a right-handed one that's currently locked in Odin's treasury and also contains replicas of the Infinity Gems, and a left-handed one that the Thanos from that universe currently has... or so we thought. Turns out Odin's is merely a fake. You want to go to [[ComicBook/UltimateMarvel Earth-1610]] for dual gauntlets, though they have eight Infinity Gems[[note]]so four for each hand[[/note]]. Strictly speaking, without the Gems/Stones the Gauntlet is just a normal gauntlet, albeit one that can withstand overwhelming power (or as [[Pantheon/{{Leadership}} Palpatine]] puts it, '''[[EvilIsHammy "UNLIMITED!!!]] [[Memes/RevengeOfTheSith POWER!!!"]]'''. He makes it no secret he wants the Infinity Gauntlet and has been observing other variations. [[ComicBook/TheAvengersJonathanHickman For example, one where it took form of a Wishing Cube, each face a panel of "forever glass"]].
* The Infinity Gems played a role in a battle between Marvel characters. Thanos was in possession of the Mind Gem during that particular instance. There is uncertainty as to what happened to that Thanos during that time. The usability of the Infinity Gems by themselves depends on one's power level. Greater Gods and Overdeities have no problem with it. Intermediate Gods could use one Gem but are likely to be exhausted after that. Lesser God and below, there's practically no point in using a Gem. This was best demonstrated when they were used by, in a particular merging of worlds, X, to eliminate Ultron Sigma. Despite being a Greater God, he struggled using the Infinity Buster (created by Iron Man and powered by the Infinity Gems) requiring the assistance of everyone present (including other Greater Gods, such as Thor, Doctor Strange and Zero) to stabilize the energy, even after donning the Ultimate Armor.]] Another version was offered as a prize for [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall the winner of the 1047th Interdimensional Contest of Champions]]. [[spoiler:[[Pantheon/{{Hats}} Linkara]] won, however he figured out the Temlins would never give out something so power without regulations. The Infinity Gauntlet he has is from another universe so he's unable to use it. That's why previous winners of the Contest of Champions can't be chosen again.]]
* [[WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021 Due to the actions of an alternate]] Ultron, [[LoopholeAbuse a loophole has been found]]; the Infinity Stones can be used to enhance something from their own universe even if they are outside of it. Theoretically it might be possible to attack someone with a sneak attack from another universe; if Zen'o were to erase an Infinity Gauntlet wielder with them unaware and Zen'o remaining in his own palace, it could work. The "Infinity Ultron" loophole has also opened the possibility that someone could send an ultra-powerful force or being to another universe. Davros was the one to muse of this, in a particularly horrifying scenario; use the Infinity Gauntlet to mass produce Reality Bombs and portals to send them to other universes the second before they detonate. On the flip side, someone aware of a multiversal cataclysm in progress, like say the Anti-Monitor's antimatter waves, could make the universe of the pantheon indestructible from said cataclysm. The Xeelee have become interested in that idea, believing it could make a universe-wide sanctuary for species to flee to.
* The other drawback is that it cannot be used to destroy itself, either the gems or the concept they represent. For example, if the Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfDestruction tried to use the Soul Gem to cause the extinction of all life, there would still have to be at least one being in the universe with a soul left over. The one notable exception was the MCU, as that Thanos had the Infinity Stones destroyed so they couldn't be used again, and he wouldn't be tempted...he almost killed himself doing so. That said [[AdaptationalWimp they are weaker than their 616 counterpart]]. The Infinity Gauntlet of the Trope Pantheon holds the same limitation as the 616 Gauntlet. One lesser detail was discovered about (at least the Pantheon's) Infinity Gauntlet when [[Pantheon/{{Heroism}} Cosmos]] was allowed to wield it; its qualities couldn't be altered. She tried to use its power to make it so it could only be used with a selfless intent, but when she tried to test it with a selfish desire ([[PokeThePoodle make Palutena's coffee taste bad]]) it worked.
* This also means that, even if the SCP Foundation wanted to, they could not alter the Infinity Gems with SCP-914. In case you're wondering, no they do not plan to use it against [[Pantheon/{{Psyches}} SCP-682]] any time soon. 682 has proven to survive and adapt to the laws of physics being altered, being sent to an area of non-existence and being put in a narrative built around it being permanently killed. The possibility it could at least permanently incapacitate the lizard is there, however this is considered risky. The reason they don't use nukes on 682 is fear it will adapt to that. Could you even imagine what a 682 that adapted to ''the Infinity Gauntlet'' would be like?! [[spoiler:If you've seen SCP-6820, you could probably guess.]] Considerations to using it against [[Pantheon/MindGames SCP-3125]] has been made; while its extradimensional status puts it outside the Gauntlet's range, it could alter the universe to block it out. Using it against [[Pantheon/AfterlifeEntities SCP-3812]] was a non-starter, though, as he's one of few decisively known to surpass the Gauntlet's power.
* The Infinity Gauntlet is something of interest to all Grand United Alliances. While there are there are some Overdeities that could actually ''[[EvenMoreOmnipotent surpass]]'' the power of all gems, they're a very small group and who exactly fits there is heavily debated. Though it only affects the Trope Pantheon central universe, this is more than enough to tip the balance of power. [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Melkor]] still doesn't think this is enough, and he wants to use the ones in the vault to create his own set capable of working across all universes. It seems like a fool's effort since the Living Tribunal would punish any attempts to do that, however you have to remember that there's nothing stopping him from, say, restore himself to full power permanently. [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] and [[Pantheon/{{Ambiguity}} Lucifer]] have mused that, [[OrderVersusChaos given their agendas]], the Soul Gem will probably take precedence.

* Note: Restoration
* Appearance: A golden gauntlet, intended to have six different colored gems/stone embedded in it
* Hall: Maximum Security
* Class Level: 1

One can use it to lord power over both the House of Pantheon/LifeAndVitality and the House of Pantheon/DeathAndPostmortem. They'd have the power to ''shut down'' the pantheon's DeathIsCheap rule, an idea that Dhuum is salivating over...though the same gem could set it back up again.

will. Seems to be a more general reality-bending purpose. [[Pantheon/PowerArchetypes Doctor Manhattan]] muses that his own abilities act similarly to the Reality Gem, as he is able to bend reality due to his innate understanding and connection to the underpinning rules of existence.

This also means that, even if the SCP Foundation

* Hans Landa was one of Hitler's best agents. A member of the SS, he was known as "the Jew Hunter" for his ability to hunt and find Jews, stating this is because he doesn't simply hate them and can think like them. He was an important figure in helping the Nazis fight the Basterds and could easily detect a liar, however he's hardly a zealot of their ideology and at his core he's an opportunist. When the winds turned against him he would collaborate with their plan to assassinate the Nazi high command, under the conditions that [[WrittenByTheWinners he would be whitewashed in the history books and his own crimes ignored]], with him retiring to Nantucket Island. [[AlternateHistory The assassination worked]], and Hans would go on to solve a series of murders as an amateur master detective. Of course, Lt. Aldo Raine refused to let him get away scot-free, [[LoopholeAbuse and while he couldn't kill him there was another method of inflicting karma]]. [[MarkOfShame Something he couldn't take off]]...so a swatiska was carved in his forehead, branding him as a Nazi. He will constantly be afraid of what people will say about or do to him in response.
* Could be described [[NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed as a less influential but just as Machiavellian Reinhard Heydrich]], [[ExpyCoexistence something he's remarked on]]. He was just as ruthless and cold-blooded, though rather than be assassinated he managed to do what many folded into Operation Paperclip achieved. A KarmaHoudini [[KarmaHoudiniWarranty albeit not entirely]], Hans Landa [[LoveToHate has been well-remembered as a villain]] and so he was in consideration for a position in the Trope Pantheon. As he would get a special punishment via LoopholeAbuse, despite his earnest attempts to escape justice, TheVillainMustBePunished was decided for him. Personally Hans considers being in the Trope Pantheon a punishment; he's now in an environment where [[ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight people will refuse to let him off the hook despite the arrangement he got]]. And the Basterds are waiting for the moment he slips up [[PayEvilUntoEvil to go all out on him]]. [[Pantheon/BetrayalAndTreachery Starscream]] has quipped that he should expect to visit his house a fair bit since he's not going to get much trust from the evil gods either.
* Hans' ascension was among the ascended Nazis, seen as contentious. He was involved in Hitler, Goebbels, Goering and other Nazi high command's assassination in his universe, proving himself perfectly willing to abandon the ideology if it's for his benefit. However, few if any of the high-ranking Nazis that ascended ever held genuine loyalty to the Fuhrer, and they hold the idea above the man. Despite recognizing him as an opportunist, Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse saw in Hans a man that was still useful to the Nazi party and made it clear that Hans Landa will be offered a handsome reward for ensuring the ascended Nazi's triumph...but he's on thin ice and [[FateWorseThanDeath he will wish for the Basterds if he pulls the same turncoat stunt on them]]. Hans Landa was reluctant to agree with this, but ultimately did so as his reputation precedes him, or in other words he already had so many angry eyes on him that siding with the Nazis again would increase his allies list.
* The Red Skull has quite the love-hate relationship with Hans Landa. Though he makes no secret [[TheStarscream he sought to become Fuhrer]], he's usually written as a genuine believer so he doesn't respect Hans' "flip-flopping". And Adolf Hitler was not just his personal idol, but arguably [[ParentalSubstitute a second father]]. However he cannot help but respect Hans' cunning and effectiveness, citing that if he held genuine conviction and loyalty in the cause [[VillainousFriendship they would be close friends]]. Landa respects the Skull's determination and own cunning, however [[EvenEvilHasStandards he is not a fan of]] his BadBoss tendencies. Amoral he may be, [[AFatherToHisMen Col Landa has affection for his adjutant]] and was outraged to see the Basterds shoot him. The Skull gave him a positive review to HYDRA, admitting he'll fit their organization as a detective and intelligent agent like a glove. Since HYDRA is more broadly authoritarian than its Nazi roots, they are a lot more accepting of him.
* While he is seem with skepticism by many Nazi deities, along with those tied to and working with the Nazis, there are some that get along with him swimmingly and overlook his {{Turncoat}} actions. Franz Vahlen has his own ambitions independent of Rommel and Hitler, and he plans to become Fuhrer himself. As a general he can give aid to Hans in areas he's lacking. General Heinz Bohm is a cunning [[TheMole mole]] who met with the two over some strudel, pointing out he is well-aware the pantheon's Nazi elite has their own internal power plays and schemes for and against one another, so the fact they're able to be friendly with one another will likely be a boon. They've met privately to discuss assassination plans on some of their own allies in case they prove to be a "liability", the details of which are a tight-knit secret but nothing out of the ordinary for the Nazis more skeptical of Hans. For now, at worst Hans Landa is a ReliableTraitor.
* On the other side of the proverbial coin, there are those that Hans Landa is quite critical of. He is flabbergasted that Millennium is still given the go ahead by the more traditional Nazis, pointing out they're insane. [[HypocrisyNod Yes he's aware he's not exactly a loyalist to the cause]], but he's not wrong feeling Mr "[[AxCrazy I like]] [[BloodKnight war]]" might be more trouble than they're worth. Adjacent to the cause, there's Sergey Taboritsky and the Aryan Brotherhood, who he's glad aren't proper associates due to how off their gourd they are. He's surprised the OTL Sergey was allowed to be part of the Nazi party, citing [[BoomerangBigot he's a Russian monarchist with a Jewish mother]]. Pointing this out only caused the Blessed Regent to go on a rant of "[[MadnessMantra I AM NOT A JEW I AM NOT CAIN!!]]" On a lighter note, he's bothered by the attention that Cartman has given him. Cartman thinks he's "super kewl" and wants to be involved, albeit with some cognitive dissonance to ignore the fact he helped with Hitler's assassination in his timeline. Col Landa accurately finds him an annoying little brat and doesn't want his attention
* It is debatable as to how much of a PoliticallyIncorrectVillain he is, as his affinity for Nazi ideology is debatable. He compares Jews to rats, but unlike other Nazis this is not meant to be an insult. Rather, it's a weird, if offensive compliment as he points out that rats are resourceful and cunning animals. He's very good at rooting out Jewish families in hiding, so this and his other crimes prevent him from being seen as anything other than an enemy by Jewish deities. And for those that directly suffered under Nazi oppression like Sophie and Magneto, no amount of FauxAffablyEvil charm would dissuade them from wanting to cave his skull in. As Magneto was able [[PayEvilUntoEvil to give a personal vengeance to Red Skull]], a punishment so bad [[IgnoredEpiphany he almost ended up rethinking his life]], the "Jew hunter" lives in fear of what he might do to him. One non-Jew that Col Landa is on red alert for is B.J. Blazkowicz, though he does hold some VillainRespect for him; his crusade against the Nazis is one that rivals, if not even surpasses his arch-enemies, the Basterds.
* Many feel that the Basterds "went easy on him", though that's only because they could not afford to kill him. The Phantom Thieves of Heart don't plan to kill him, but they do plan to make him actually re-evaluate his life [[HeelFaceBrainwashing by stealing his heart, and thus force him to feel guilt for his actions]]. Landa muses "I wonder if [[FateWorseThanDeath I'd prefer execution]]...not that I'd ever want to test that, of course". Night Raid considers him someone to go after for his crimes regardless of red tape. Light Yagami plans to write his name in the Death Note, [[KnightTemplar though with less savory motives than most out for his blood]]. Hans Landa has rightly surmised that [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist his goals are more about power and pride than serving justice]], insulting him by saying "[[NotSoDifferentRemark I feel you would fit quite well with fascism if you were in the forties]]". And of course, there are the many Allied soldiers of WWII who want his head due to being a Nazi SS agent, even if it's not on the same PayEvilUntoEvil level as the Basterds. For bonus points the Red Viper of Dorne wants him to pay, as he's incensed by how he got away for the most part even if he had a karmic punishment.
* Hans Landa has a friendship with [[ANaziByAnyOtherName the somewhat but not quite Nazi]] Arnold Berkman. Major of the Germanian army's special unit, Berkman is a cunning figure who is ultimately more of an opportunist [[ItsAllAboutMe who's loyalty is to Numero Uno]], and got away unscathed. He's even more of a KarmaHoudini than Hans, [[EyeScream though he would lose an eye]]. The two enjoy swapping stories and participating in the finer things in life. Orson Krennic is another friend of Hans, as he's a well-dressed and [[FauxAffablyEvil superficially friendly]] fascist. They have different specialties though, as Hans is more of a detective/intelligence agent and Krennic develops military technology. [[Pantheon/OutlooksOnLife Tarkin]] was disappointed by their friendship as he had hoped to associate with Col Landa, but his own heated rivalry with Krennic causes just too much friction for that to be the case anymore.
* (collaborators and those tied to the cause)

* While he is seem with skepticism by many Nazi deities, along with those tied to and working with the Nazis, there are some that get along with him swimmingly and overlook his {{Turncoat}} actions. \n* (Nazis he'd fully get along with) Franz Vahlen has his own ambitions independent of Rommel and Hitler, and he plans to become Fuhrer himself.

And for those that directly suffered under Nazi oppression like Sophie and Magneto, no amount of FauxAffablyEvil charm would dissuade them from wanting to cave his skull in.

of.
