''Iron Man'' is a 1998 comic by Creator/MarvelComics

----
!!''Iron Man'' (1998) provides examples of:
* ForHalloweenIAmGoingAsMyself: Averted in ''Iron Man'' (vol. 3) #33 - Tony went to a costume party dressed as Captain America.
* GenderBender: During Vol. 3, the problem with having a techno-organic supercomputer inside you is that someone might find a way to hijack it. Namely, a psycho KillerRobot with a severe [[Theatre/OedipusRex complex]] that centers on one of your teammates. Tony was ''not'' amused when he woke up after being changed back to normal.
* KingIncognito: For a few issues, Tony Stark decided he didn't want to be Iron Man any more, so he gave away his fortune and went to Silicon Valley under the alias of ''Hogan Potts''. He worked as a normal grunt at a company. He didn't last long.
* MomentOfWeakness: During the ''Manhunt'' story arc in Iron Man where Tony Stark is framed for the attacks on the Chinese. FBI agent Neil Streich threatens to draw in Pepper Potts and the hospitalized Happy Hogan unless Pepper agrees to cooperate with him. Pepper agrees and provides Stretch with the code he needs to activate a failsafe which deactivates the Iron Man armor. Pepper is heartbroken and horrified when she gives Neil the code and shamefully admits to a comatose Happy that that was the worst thing she could have done to him. When Tony is able to evade capture and clear his name, he forgives Pepper for her betrayal. Pepper breaks down and cries as Tony hugs her, saying "You don't have to say that. You have every right to think I let you down because I did. Stretch got me worried about Happy and I should have been stronger, or cleverer" as Tony says everything is OK.
* PetTheDog: When Tony Stark is proven innocent and the FBI still charges him with resisting arrest, FBI agent Neil Streich argues about it again with Nick Fury. Neil Stretch is transferred to the Alaska field office as a result. Neil also tells Tony not to be mad at Pepper Potts because she did not break easily: she was in distress and he played her like he was trained to do. "You want to be pissed at anyone, be pissed at me".
* ReassignedToAntarctica: When the FBI still wants to charge Tony Stark with resisting arrest, FBI agent Neil Stretch and Nick Fury argue about it again. Neil Stretch is transferred to the Alaska field office as a result.
* StalkerWithACrush: One of his own armors, who was practically an abusive boyfriend when it became sentient.
* ThreePointLanding: The cover of Issue 76 for the 1998-2004 volume of ''The Invincible Iron Man'' features [[http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/File:Iron_Man_Vol_3_76_Textless.jpg Tony punching the ground doing the pose]]. [[http://www.dialbforblog.com/archives/526/ The rest is history in iconography.]]
* {{Yandere}}: After one of Tony's suits spontaneously developes sentience it begins acting like an obsessive lover.
