''Dancing☆Star Pretty Cure The Stage'' is a 2.5D stage show spin-off from the ''Anime/PrettyCure'' franchise made to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The story this stageplay follows is not based on any of the anime and features an all-male cast.
The story follows high-schooler Gaku Hoshikawa, who loves dancing and dreams of winning the national championship one day. On his way to the selection test, he meets a mysterious strangely dressed person called Pas de Deux and a suited man with a blank expression. When the man in a suit attacks, Pas de Deux pendant glows transforming Gaku into Cure Top. During the story, Gaku finds others, who have the power to transform into Pretty Cure, and the five of them will team up to become a new team of Pretty Cure.
