Sora and Yuto's duel continues with Yuya stepping in. During the duel, Sora reveals to Yuya that he's from another dimension, and so are Yuto and Shun. However, his Duel Disk responds to this information, and Sora is teleported away. With no point to continuing, Yuto and Yuya end their duel, and Yuya demands answers.
Yuto reveals there are four dimensions, divided by their summoning methods. He and Shun are from a dimension of Xyz Summoners, where they lived in a city called Heartland. Sora is from a dimension that uses Fusion Summons, and is from Academia, also called Duel Academy, an island school that trains Duel Soldiers. The soldiers of Academia invaded Heartland, and in the invasion Shun's sister Ruri was captured, Academia transforming her and their other victims into cards to take back to their dimension. Yuto and Shun escaped to this dimension, the Standard Dimension, the one that connects the other three. The Standard Dimension is so named because it had no unique summon method -- until Yuya's Pendulum Monsters appeared.
