* KarmaHoudini: Ma'alefa'ak ultimately gets everything he ever wanted by the end. He's rescued from the Phantom Zone, rewarded by Darkseid for his service, the heroes have no reason to hunt him for the foreseeable future, and there's even the implication that he is the progenitor (directly or indirectly) of Chameleon Boy's species. The only real consequence he suffers is the loss of any good will he had left with M'gann.[[note]] She was the only sibling who he had a decent relationship with and he ''ruined'' that with his constant actions for "revolution", the final straw being that he voiced out loud that he was ''glad'' her lover, Connor, was "dead". [[/note]]

Character reaction and not an outcome.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Gar's news about Conner being alive doesn't instantly heal him of his trauma or depression. He reveals that he is still in the process of recovery sometime later after the Team's battle with the Zods, deciding to stay out of the hero and show business until he is finally better. Also, despite his hopes, Perdita has told Gar that she has moved on, unwilling to restart their intimate relationship.
** Adding to this, Dinah mentions that Gar and many other heroes, kids ''and'' adults, deal with mental challenges every day, let alone the year in this season, and suggests a sanctuary of sorts for them to get away from it all if needed.

That it is her specifically suggesting it is ironic in particular, as Black Canary infamously [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere walked out of her confessional session]] at Sanctuary.

* OhCrap: Several made by the villains:
** Faora's face screams this when she's caught in Rocket's bubble and then dropped into the boom tube, ''connected to the Phantom Zone''.
** Similarly, Faora's fate occurs for both Dru-Zod and Ma'alefa'ak as well, the latter being more passionate in the midst of his [[VillainousBreakdown temper tantrum]] and realizing that his sister is going to ''let'' him fall in.
** Lor-Zod realizing he ''stupidly'' flew in front of the bomb on Mars, with his own canister of Kryptonite.

*** Ursa-Zod, the Emerald Empress, shoots down Bio-Ship and everyone in it, but they survived, though hurt. M'gann used her psychic power to trick her into thinking she killed all but Superman. Superman no-selling the blast added to the illusion.

There is no canon evidence one way or the other regarding anyone making an effort to check in on Mary between her last appearance and here.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Due to Zatanna's actions in past episodes, and simply not ''checking up'' on Mary while she was vulnerable, Mary has now gone to work for '''Darkseid'''. What consequences this will have on Zatanna in the future remains to be seen.
