* CruelTwistEnding: A woman time travels to the future and is arrested because technology is banned. She goes on trial and tries to convince the leaders to bring technology back, because she has seen futures where humanity is screwed without technology. A second time traveler arrives with a nuclear bomb and threatens the leaders to keep technology banned, because he had seen futures where humanity ended up screwed over because of technology. After a long debate, the leaders decide to lift the ban and everyone seemingly convinces the second time traveler not to kill them and to return to his own time. He leaves... but leaves the bomb behind and it explodes, wiping out the city.

!!Final Tropes, Part Two:
* AlternateTimeline: Ezekiel tells the US Supreme Court justices that time travel has taught him that the future is malleable and, as a result, it is more accurate to talk about futures plural as he has witnessed several different timelines. He cites the example of an alien race launching a devastating retaliatory attack on Earth in the 24th Century in one of these timelines (as seen in "Relativity Theory") as evidence that technology is inherently evil and destructive to humanity. The events of other episodes presumably take place in different alternate timelines.
* EvilLuddite: Ezekiel, whose real name is Daniel Faraday, is convinced that advanced technology will eventually lead to humanity's destruction. In 2076, the US Supreme Court is considering the appeal of his old boss and fellow time traveler Dr. Theresa Givens, who has been sentenced to death for the possession of advanced technology. As the fate of the anti-technology codes hang in the balance. Ezekiel threatens the justices with a cold fusion device powerful enough to destroy half the Eastern Seaboard. When Chief Justice Haden Wainwright asks Ezekiel if he appreciates the irony of using a weapon of mass destruction in order to convince the Court to uphold the ban on technology, Ezekiel replies, "[[HypocrisyNod I see irony everywhere. It's like X-ray vision]]."
* HostageSituation: Ezekiel holds the five US Supreme Court justices, the appellant Dr. Theresa Givens, her attorney Nicole Whitley and the Solicitor General Wallace Gannon hostage in the Supreme Court Building using a cold fusion device powerful enough to destroy not only UsefulNotes/WashingtonDC but half the Eastern Seaboard.
* MeaningfulName: After becoming an anti-technology zealot, the scientist Daniel Faraday adopted the name Ezekiel, a reference to the [[Literature/BookOfEzekiel Biblical prophet]]. He believes that technology is inherently evil and predicts that its use will ultimately lead to the destruction of humanity.
* MonumentalDamage: Ezekiel's cold fusion device detonates in the Supreme Court Building and the blastwave destroys the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument within seconds. Assuming Ezekiel was telling the truth about its blast radius, half of the Eastern Seaboard is devastated by his device.
* MultipleChoiceFuture: Ezekiel tells the US Supreme Court that he has seen multiple possible futures during his travels through time.
* SeeksAnothersResurrection: Chief Justice Haden Wainwright was inconsolable after his beloved wife Julia died of cancer in 2066. A friend told him about the scientific underground, which possessed advanced pieces of technology in contravention of the anti-technology codes introduced after the War of 2059. They were able to use the Scanning Molecular Reorganizer (SMR) module developed by Doctors James Houghton and Charles [=McCamber=] (as seen in "New Lease") to revive Julia for several seconds. She was terrified and bewildered during her few brief moments of consciousness. The expression on her face further traumatized Chief Justice Wainwright, who said that he would never forgive himself for putting her through that.
* TitleDrop: During Dr. Givens's closing speech.
