A wife of Varya's patient Vladimir mistakes Varya for his lover, due to Varya's clumsiness, and gets ''infuriated''. Now Varya must somehow defuse this situation. Varya manages to explain that she is in relationship with David (and even shows her photos), which convinces her... but now said wife is trying to steal David for herself, because her own husband is "worthless". To fix the situation (for both herself and Vladimir), Varya agrees to help the patient to clean up himself, so he would again look attractive to his wife (so she would return to him and leave David alone). This works... but was their relationship even worth saving?

After screwing up with his "present", Bykov needs a "plan B" to mend relationship with Kisegach. Kupitman suggests to just promise to marry her... without specifying ''when''. Bykov immediately tells him that this would fail, because she would demand him to do it ''here and now''. Meanwhile, Kisegach is in trouble because of Bykov, who sent a report... which contained only the words "burn in hell"; an official from ministry is here and wants her to deal with the situation here and now. Unfortunately, Bykov ignores every call, and no one can find him. When supply manager decides to rebel, too, the official takes it as a sign of Kisegach doing poor job as administrator, and leaves, planning to fill up a ''very'' negative report.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: To Bykov's surprise, Lobanov manages to solve "unsolvable" case of the patient whose case even Bykov was unable to solve, out of resentment to Gleb (who was considered to be the "smarter one".

* {{Hypocrite}}: Vladimir's wife accuses him on cheating (note that she's snow to be extremely jealous in general). Then she goes outside and tries to flirt with David, who's himself in relationship, and she knows it. Wife's words about Vladimir indicates that she considers him being "worthless" and plans to dump him. David gets disgusted by her behaviour, and rejects her, then tells Varya that he only acted nice cause he doesn't like being rude. As for Vladimir, he gets his wife back after Varya helped him to clean up, but now it's unclear wether such marriage is even worth keeping.

* MistakenForCheating: Due to [[TheKlutz being clumsy]], Varya fells on her patient... and gets mistaken by his wife for him cheating on her with Varya. This ''infuriated'' her, and now Varya must somehow explain everything to her before it would ruin patient's marriage.

* UndesirablePrize: Gleb and Semyon fights over who would treat the patient, and who would clean up floor (because first one is for "smarter one" and second is for "dumber one", in Bykov's words). Lobanov takes the clinical history by force... but the patient's case turns out to be so hard that now Semyon wants to relegate it back to Gleb somehow. Gleb immediately realises why Lobanov gave up so quickly, and refuses... and Lobanov again "persuades" him with brute force. But, as it later turns out, they got that patient ''by mistake'' (even Bykov is unsure what to do with him), and the real patient is much easier.

Bykov never specified who is who, they must decide by themselves. Lobanov "won" because he was stronger than Gleb and just take away clinical history... but patient's case turns out to be so hard, its really out of his league, and it seems what Lobanov must now give it back to Gleb. Gleb, once realised ''how'' hard his patient's case is, gave up and found Bykov... who tell him what he by mistake gave them ''wrong patient'' (even he is unsure what to do with this guy); their real patient is much easier. Meanwhile, Lobanov, out of resentment for being "dumb one", spend whole night in the hospital, but ''managed'' to solve original patient's case, to Bykov's surprise.

* AuthorityInNameOnly: Kisegach is in trouble because Bykov [[ManChild send report to ministry which contained only words "burn in hell!"]]. She may even lost her position if she doesn't manage to find him and punish appropriately! Unfortunately, she can't find him anywhere. Situation only made worse by supply manager, who, quoting Vera, "doesn't give a damn" what Kisegach wants from him. This was proved to be last straw, and official leaved, planning to create ''very'' negative report.
* ExactWords: Kupitman's advice to deal with Bykov's problem: promise Kisegach what Bykov ''would'' marry her... and never specify ''when''. Bykov tell him what this would not work, because she would press him into doing it ''here and now''.
* DudeNotFunny: When Bykov compared Kupitman's attempts to force him to go to Kisegach to Nazis, Kupitman (a jew) predictable reacted ''very'' negatively.
* EveryoneHasStandards: [[ReallyGetsAround Womaniser or not]], David considers Vladimir's wife's attempts to hit on him [[{{Hypocrite}} disgusting]], and rejected her (offscreen).
* HeCleansUpNicely: When Varya's patient Vladimir (with Varya's help) cleaned himself up, he managed to convince his wife what he is still worth staying with (she already considered to dump him for David).
* HiddenDepths: To Bykov's surprise, Lobanov managed to solve "unsolvable" case of patient with whom even Bykov was unaware what to do, out of resentment to Gleb (who was considered to be "smarter one".
* {{Hypocrite}}: Its unclear due to insufficient information if Vladimir really cheated on his wife before, or was mistaken in similar manner (she is ''very'' jealous); but almost immediately after leaving him, his wife started flirting with David, despite both her being married, and him being in relationship with Varya. Her own words implied what she considers her husband to be "inferior" to David and ergo not worthing her faithfulness (she even considers to dump him altogether). While Vladimir managed to win her back just by cleaning himself up, it's dubious what she would not jump on somebody else when chance arises. David (who was aware about Vladimir) was disgusted by her too, and only talked with her nicely because he has no habit to talk with people rudely; he rejected her advances offscreen, and later tell so to Varya.
* ManChild: Bykov send report into ministry contained only two words: "burn in hell!". Now, "thanks to him", Kisegach is in trouble... and Bykov hides from her for whole day; he was only forced to go to her by Kupitman, who was [[GroinAttack harshly pressed by Kisegach]] when she tried to find Bykov.
* MistakenForCheating: Due to [[TheKlutz being clumsy]], Varya fell on her patient... and it was mistaken by his wife for him cheating on her with Varya. This ''infuriated'' her, and now Varya must somehow explain everything to her before it would ruin patient's marriage.

Kisegach, instead, searched for him not for this, but because [[ManChild Bykov]] get her in trouble with his "joke" on ministry, and now she must find him to restore that little respect she has left. As result, she only found him when it is already too late... ''and'' she learned his true reason to hide and become interested in pressing that issue, despite previously almost forgetting it altogether due to more important problems.
