Varya must spend whole day with Bykov, because he misplaced his wrist watch, and wouldn't accept just taking anyone else's one (because "wrist watch is intimate thing, like seaman's undies – once, and until death"). Unfortunately, she falls in deep trance near him, constantly failing her tasks. Bykov is tired of her inadequacy, and just confronts her about this.
Gleb's patient is lonely woman who rather aggressively flirts with him... which creeps him out. Unfortunately, patient doesn't take his rejection well, and lied to Kysegach what he harassed her. Unfortunately, just before this Gleb had discussion with his mother about his constant lies to her. Gleb then fools her into retracting her complaint, and then leaves her alone.

* CannotKeepASecret: Orderly Petr just can't keep secret [[PottyEmergency why]] he guards outside Lobanov's ward. Despite Lobanov asked him for help ''exactly because'' he needs to keep it a secret.
* ChekhovsGun: Bykov mentioned what he lost his wrist watch somewhere. That same watch later finds Gleb... in his and his mother's house, which means what [[{{Hypocrite}} she lied to him about "dumping" Bykov]].
* CryingWolf: Gleb lied to Kysegach constantly in the past. Now, she would not believe him... despite this time he tell her the truth. Gleb outright ask her, if she would believe ''anything'' what other people would tell about him, and she bluntly tell "yes". He decided to retaliate, by hiring other people (lots of people) to construct a fake complaint about him. This still fails, because she instantly guesses what he just faked all those complaints. Only way for him to prove what he really is innocent if patient tells this herself (and just bribing her would not work).
* InternalReveal: Bykov learns about [[IgnoredEnamoredUnderling Varya's love to him]]. He decided to [[BreakHisHeartToSaveHim break her heart before situation becomes even more toxic for both of them]].
* LoveMakesYouDumb: Once again, when near Bykov, Varya can't act even remotely adequate. This time, she starts [[ImagineSpot imagining her love confession to him]], completely failing tasks Bykov gives her. Bykov is tired of this and forces her to tell the truth.
* MrsRobinson: Gleb's patient is obviously older than him (and is not exactly attractive). She also not subtle in her attempts to flirt with him – [[NoGuyWantsToBeChased which actually creeps him out]]. [[NotGoodWithRejection Unfortunately, she would not take "no" for an answer]].
* NotGoodWithRejection: When Gleb [[NoGuyWantsToBeChased refuses]] his [[MrsRobinson patient's]] advances, she just lied to Kysegach what it was ''him'' harassing ''her''.
* NoGuyWantsToBeChased: Gleb's patient is rather aggressive in her attempts to flirt with him. This also could be related to [[MrsRobinson age difference]], and her not being exactly attractive anyway.
