Since Lobanov has nowhere to go, Bykov invites him to live with him for a time being. But Semyon can't stop screwing up even while not on duty, so Bykov decides to punish him, and not by just another night shift. Now, Lobanov would become his personal slave. Lobanov quickly grows tired of this abuse, but Varya has a "solution": Lobanov must earn Bykov's respect by saving a patient... from Varya. This completely backfires since "Semyon's" diagnosis turns out to be completely wrong, while "Varya's" one is right, which results in Semyon being punished with a night shift.

* ButtMonkey: While Lobanov is always the butt of Bykov's jokes, this time Bykov goes especially harsh on him, due to Semyon temporarily becoming his "slave". And every attempt to fix this ends in humiliating failure.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: Varya's attempt to "save" Lobanov from Bykov fails and makes the situation worse. Why? Because the plan involved Lobanov "correcting" Varya's "wrong" diagnosis and being rewarded... but the "wrong" diagnosis turns out to be ''right'', and now Bykov thinks that Lobanov is [[LethallyStupid so dumb]], he almost botched ''another'' intern's work, besides his own. Semyon also gets punished with a night shift.
* IBangedYourMom: Bykov doesn't even bother with hiding the truth from Gleb:

* InternalReveal: Gleb now knows about his mother's relationship with Bykov. [[ParentalSexualitySquick He doesn't take it well]] -- not because it is his mother (he was perfectly okay with her trying new relationships before), but because this relationship is with [[ArchNemesis Bykov]].

* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Kupitman, when attempted to defuse Levin and Lyuba's conflict, tells them the truth why Levin received syphilis-positive analyses... but now they both thinks that it was his fault all along (especially since he has a long story of "pranks" like this).
* OutOfFocus: Varya has no plot in this episode, albeit she does get involved in Lobanov's.

* PoorCommunicationKills: Laboratory assistants mistakes the patient named "Lenin" for Kupitman's drunk joke, and decides that it would be fun to write in syphilis into "Lenin's" results. Except, it was not a joke, and Kupitman doesn't bother to double-check the results. This leads to Lyuba finding those results; when Lyuba reads them aloud, Levin immediately faints. When Levin awakes, he decides that it was Lyuba who infected him.
* TragicKeepsake: We finally learn why Bykov cares so much about his ficus, and why he named it "Igor". This ficus, gifted by the pathologist, is named after the first patient whom Bykov failed to save. Igor somehow acts like a GoodLuckCharm, since ever since Bykov obtained it, there were no deaths in the Therapy.

Levin wants to to check if he possibly has any venereological illnesses. Why? Just to be sure. Unfortunately, because Kupitman wrote him down as "Lenin", laboratory assistants mistakes this for Kupitman's joke, and "joke" back by faking syphilis. This leads to major quarrel between Lyuba and Levin, even after Kupitman explained everything.

Kysegach thinks they can't keep their relationship hidden, and must tell Gleb the truth. Bykov disagrees. Kysegach decided to tell anyway, and arrange their meeting at the restaurant ... only for Bykov to repeatably sabotage Gleb's attempts to adhere this meeting. In the end, Gleb learns about this when he accidentally busted them together when he returned home.

* ManipulativeBastard: {{Subverted}}. Kysegach tries to be this, to force Bykov and Romanenko meet at neutral territory and tell Gleb about her and Bykov's relationship, but it fails when Bykov learns what she invited both of them, and forced Gleb to stay on night shift (while Gleb did mistake, Bykov only decided to punish him when he learn about restaurant, before that he was okay to let Gleb go). But Bykov decided to tell her about this, so she just calls Gleb and orders him to abandon night shift and go straight to them. This fails, because Lobanov decided to rat Gleb out to Bykov to earn forgiveness, and Bykov lied to him about Gleb's patient having heart attack. And ''then'' Gleb just busted them together when he returns home instead staying in the hospital.
** Kupitman, when attempted to defuse Levin and Lyuba's conflict, tell them the truth why Levin received syphilis-positive analyses... [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished but now they both think it was his fault all along]] (especially since he has a long story of "pranks" like this).

** How Kupitman "disguised" Levin's test results? By naming him "[[InSeriesNickname Lenin]]". [[SarcasmMode Of course, no one is aware who it could be]]. Though plan ultimately failed for another reason.
