* CharacterDevelopment: This episode reveals that Neelix isn't ''completely'' lacking in perspective, and isn't oblivious to Tuvok's feelings towards him. In fact, Neelix has been quite frustrated over Tuvok's condescending attitude, and finally makes it known during their mission. Okay, sure, maybe he could've picked a better time to [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech call Tuvok out]] for this, but even Tuvok grudgingly admits he has a point.

* ColdEquation: Hanjuan suggests they throw out Dr. Vatm, in revenge for him trying to take the elevator without them, so there'll be more oxygen for the rest of them.
