Added DiffLines:

* KnewItAllAlong: Inverted - when Col. Potter first proposes the idea of relocating to the cave, Winchester thinks it's a wonderful idea (as do the others, except Hawkeye, of course). Once they're in the cave, Winchester starts complaining about being in the cave (it's affecting his sinuses, it's crowded), and says he always knew it was a bad idea.

Added DiffLines:

* TheTag: The company returns to the 4077 while Hawkeye and Margaret are passed out in post-op. The noise wakes them up, and they each decide to get up and help, only to think better of it and fall back asleep.

Added DiffLines:

* CaptainObvious: When Father Mulcahy tells Hawkeye he shouldn't be in the cave if he has claustrophobia, Hawkeye responds, "Father, you have a real grasp of the obvious."

Added DiffLines:

* YouAndWhatArmy: A variant - when B.J., getting irritated at Winchester's gloomy remarks when they're all inside the cave (it's freaking out the patients), suggests to Winchester he's going to knock all his teeth out if he doesn't shut up, Winchester scoffs, "[[SophisticatedAsHell To answer you in your own dead-end parlance, 'Youse and whom else?']]"

Added DiffLines:

* TrustPassword: The fire control officer asks Potter for the proper authentication code to prove he's really American. But the code book the 4077th has is outdated so the password is incorrect.
-->'''Potter:''' He thinks I'm Chinese.
-->'''Hawkeye:''' I don't see it myself.

Added DiffLines:

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Neither Hawkeye nor Margaret are 'cured' of their phobias by the end of the episode: Hawkeye got away from his due to the need to return to the 4077 to operate, and Margaret was forced to grit her teeth and bear it in order to assist in the operation, in contrast to other fictions where a single incident of facing the source of a phobia can allow a person to overcome it.

When the 4077th comes under artillery fire (again, from friendly positions), Col. Potter orders the patients and surgical teams to be moved into a nearby cave system for protection... much to Hawkeye's dismay, as it causes his claustrophobia to rear its head.

!! Attention all personnel, attention! Col. Potter has ordered the following tropes to be moved to this page on the double:
* FaceYourFears: For both Hawkeye and Margaret, his claustrophobia and her brontophobia converging as a point of relation between the two. While neither overcomes their respective fear, they do bond over the experience.
* FearOfThunder: Margaret hates loud noises, such as exploding shells. It helps her comfort Hawkeye concerning his claustrophobia.
* FriendlyFire: Outdated information leads to a nearby artillery unit shelling the 4077th. [[RunningGag Again.]]
