* DamselOutOfDistress: Lupin and Co. attempt to rescue Fujiko, after she's been kidnapped and held hostage by Prof. Lonebach. She not only saves them the trouble, she ends up saving ''them'', by single-handedly taking over the plane! It has to be seen to be believed (7:21-8:47)!

A character can't be an expy of a character that they predate.

* {{Expy}}: More than a few fans have noted Lonebach 's resemblance to [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Dr. Eggman]].
** OlderThanTheyThink: Eggman is in fact an Expy of Lonebach, as Naoto Ohshima himself is a fan of Lupin and based his design of Eggman off of Lonebach.

Added DiffLines:

* NoManShouldHaveThisPower: Lupin spends the episode trying to track down the plant that is making the small Atom Bombs; knowing that the Black Market and criminal underworld would love to get their hands on them. After securing the ''Albatross'', Lupin discovers the schematics on Fujikos' person as he hands them over to Jigen who tears up the blueprint and tosses the pieces out the window while in-flight over a lake.

* FullFrontalAssault: Actually averted. Despite being strip-searched down to her earrings and spending most of her captivity with only a glorified tank top, she finally fully covers up just as she makes her escape, improvising a skirt from a table cloth.

* AffablyEvil: Aside from the fact that Lumbach wants to manufacture and sell portable nuclear bombs, he really isn't [[StealthPun that "bad"]] [[FriendlyEnemy a guy.]]
* CassandraTruth: When Lupin tries to tell Zengata that Lumbach's "sparkplug" is really a detonator, Zenigata doesn't buy it. Then when he tells him Lumbach's lying and that he's holding Fujiko hostage, Zenigata replies he'd already spoken to Fujiko, who said Lupin wouldn't leave her alone. And even when Lupin has him convinced of at least the existence of the detonator in the middle of a strip search, his priorities are still somewhat skewed until the climax.

* {{Expy}}: More than a few fans have noted Lumbach's resemblance to [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Dr. Eggman]].
* {{Fanservice}}: Fujiko ends up strip-searched by Lumbach for the ignition plug and left with only her earrings and, later, her tattered dress, reduced to basically a tank top. She remains bottomless until the fighting starts.
** Then there's Lupin and Jigien running to stop Lumback in only their underwear after ALSO being stip-searched by Zenigata.

* HairTriggerExplosive: Fujiko and Lumbach claim the ''nuclear bombs'' will go off on impact, even though they're explicitly stored separated from their detonators. With Lumbach it might be considered a bluff, but Fujiko really should know better (especially considering she tried to take the blueprint).
* ImpersonatingAnOfficer: Lupin poses as Zenigata again; he uses the disguise to try to get Prof. Lumbach to tell him about his bomb manufacturing plant. Lumbach stalls by pretending to fall for it, to buy time for the real Zenigata to show up!
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: Downplayed, but definitely present. Lumbach seems in no hurry to get Fujiko a new pair of pants after having her strip-searched, but he would like to have her join him for lunch.

* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Fujiko, who spends most of the story either fully nude or bottomless, but barely bats an eye and doesn't bother getting fully covered up until the climax.

* {{Fanservice}}: Lots of naked and half-naked characters abound; including [[FreezeFrameBonus two closeups of Fujiko's fanny.]]
* FoodPorn: The opening scene features the gang chowing down on some noodles-and-unidentifiable-meat.
